Can anyone remember what year the rule was changed to make it that if a ruckman grabbed the ball out of the ruck, it was considered prior opportunity and he had to kick or handball the ball straight away.

I think it was 2004, although I'd have to find old rule books.

You only have to kick or handball straight away if you're actually tackled.

In my junior footy, your apparenty not allowed to take it out of the ruck (for some stupid reason). Stops people grabbing it and running the whole field lol.

Anyway I think it was 04.
 
I say bring it back, it is currently bullshit they way it is now! they are trying to kill the dinosaurs in our game! look over the last five years, Matty Primus, Luke Darcy, Stephen King to Brendan Lade, Dean Cox and Matthew Kruzer!
