Woodville - Team of the Century!

I hope that if any of you Woodville supporters make it to this day, you post many photos on this website for us interstaters to see. Being from Victoria, I'd love to check out some of the inaugural Woodies players and put faces to names. Cheers.

    One Game Wonders

I can't forget that famous day late in the 1989 season, when a red-hot Geelong went down by 21 points to a Collingwood side led by the definitive one-game wonder, Athas Hrysoulakis. He absolutely tore the Cats a new one that day, so much so that he made the front cover of the Football Record the...

Which football code will be affected most by soccer's rise.

The last time a final World Cup qualifier was played in Sydney was in fact 1993, when Australia played Argentina at the Sydney Football Stadium (now Aussie Stadium) for a place in the 1994 World Cup. There have been World Cup qualifiers played in Sydney since then, but only involving Oceania...

Best coach, played or assistant to Sheeds

I may be wrong, but I do believe that in 1992, Denis Pagan was an assistant to Sheedy along with being the reserves coach.

    Players who wasted their talent

A bit of a blast from the past here, but my one was a guy named Julian Kirzner. Was an absolute star junior player, I think he kicked about 25 goals in one game for his school, Gennazzano College in Melbourne. I really thought he was going to be our best full-forward since Blethyn. I was rapt...

Seriously When Will Carlton Threaten the top 8?

I agree with you ODN, while I can't see the Blues making the top 8 in 2006, it's feasible that 11 wins could scrape you in, which would mean that a team wouldn't have to play particularly well to be able to snag one of the last positions in the 8. Granted, Carlton would need to improve massively...

What's the most a player can earn playing SANFL?

I would think you may be very close to the money there. The highest-paid players in the VFL, that are strictly VFL players of course, earn around the $500 per game mark, and the SANFL would be offering much greater than that, so I would think you would be fairly close to the money there.

who is better Micheal Long or Andrew Mcleod

As has been mentioned by Longy previously, Mcleod gets many brownie points for this.

    Jason Dunstall Anyone???

Dunstall also played in the 1985 GF against Essendon, I can't recall how many goals he kicked that day but it couldn't have been too many, as Brereton was the standout that day kicking 8.
