Brent Grgic, booted four goals against Collingwood in about 1997 or 98 from centre half-forward.

Looked like the next Garry Lyon.

Subsequent events proved it was a con.

he was pure crap

You would have to be a Freo fan to remember John Hutton. Held the Freo record for most goals in a game (8 vs Sydney 1995), till Modra broke it in 1999. John Hutton was very average in all of his other 17 games.

Remember it well. The hack couldn't get a kick for us, then he kicks 8 against us for Freo.

I can't forget that famous day late in the 1989 season, when a red-hot Geelong went down by 21 points to a Collingwood side led by the definitive one-game wonder, Athas Hrysoulakis. He absolutely tore the Cats a new one that day, so much so that he made the front cover of the Football Record the following week. Unfortunately, he only ended up playing 19 games in total, only 2 the following year, and was never to be heard from again.

Daniel Metropolis kicked 6 goals with his first 6 kicks in league footy against us one year.
Went on to be a very ordinary player, although to his credit , Freo still managed to pay him about half a million a year when he went there.

Ahh Metro wasn't that bad a player, just your average defender for most of his career. First couple of games up forward were great when Suma went down for a stretch back in 92.

Anyone said Tranquilli (sp?) yet?

I didnt say he was a dud, i just said that he has played like a dud ever since. Which is true.

Craig bradley. played well in a few finals, but never really showed much in his other games.

Mate, you are an absolute royal **** if you seriously think that Craig Bradley was a one game wonder. I mean even though the Carlton selection committee may have made some bad decisions but surely they couldnt get it wrong 375 TIMES!!!!!!

Ummm I think you may have the wrong person here. The Walker response is appropriately directed at me. The Craig Bradley reference unfortunately is not. So, balls in your court now...

Last time I checked, Athas was a copper, and he was on patrol at the G in about 1999...I think...

Also thrown in Shane Fell for the Swans, kicked 5 on debut against carlton at Princes in 1990, the Swans first win their since Noah was a boy, and then did bugger all for the rest of the year, but still won the goal kicking.

Um...am I the only one around here who thinks that he might have been joking?

I know sarcasm doesn't come out well in type, but still, people shouldn't have to type (just joking) for something so obvious.

As for a one game wonder, I only saw Carey play one good game, got carried the rest of his career (flame away!)

Come on Yianni, how could you label Wayne Carey.. the King.. one of the best footballers of the modern era.. a one game wonder.. you're a disgrace.. get out of here.. go on, leave now.. i'm rolling my eyes just like the smiley face... how do like that - i'm rolling my eyes at you, and you wanna know why - Carey WAS NOT a one game wonder, and anyone who thinks he is, is a fool..

It's clear he was a three game wonder.
