Unlike you who rates blokes on their length and girth u big fairy.

    Nathan Foley

Average player. Its all well and good to say he looked alright vs. the worst midfield in the comp. Lets assess our midfield against West Coast, Adelaide, Dogs, St. Kilda. Seriously deficient. If players like Foley are commanding any sort of trade value, then I am happy to say see you later.

    Mongrel

How many players on our list have a bit of mongrel about them? I really only get to watch games on telly, so miss a lot of the stuff going on in back play, but I was glad to see Stafford getting stuck in even if he gets pinged. At one stage he marked 3 or 4 yards in front of French in the...

I'm not really talking positionally, I'm talking about Wallace carrying a smaller, not particularly quick, not particularly damaging player with good footy smarts as his main redeeming feature. IMO we have several younger players who could do Hyde's job, but if continues to play well it will...

Hyde is a steady player, he kicked a goal on the run after a few teammates had missed that was a real steadying influence. I just feel he is at a precarious stage in his career because I don't think he is going to get much better and he is not particularly fast, strong or damaging with the pill...

Deledio ? ... did anyone rate him tonight ?

Agree. A mature performance. The boy could be anything. Is a good size and uses both sides of his body. I would not swap him for any player in the comp right now based on his potential.

Has a very good head on his shoulders (cue froars and Julz). The kid rarely makes a bad decision and has fantastic vision (I could make a joke about this ruling froarsy out!). Seems to always find a man on his own, or at least never kicks to a contest in which we are outnumbered. Will be a...

    good win, luck

I almost feel sorry for Carlton fans. Unless something radical happens in this life cycle, there is just no way they are going to be anything but mediocre for the next 10 years. Young Murphy is going to be a gun, but you look at their other younger players, Walker, Betts, Deluca, Thornton...

    Joel Bowden you're all class

That is wrong IMO. His great strength with the ball is that he makes time for himself. He baulks and feins and finds a way to get a kick or handball away. Good players look like they have all the time in the world. His brother can do it too. But you only have to look at last nights game to see...

    Changes V Essendon

Even if he didn't get a touch he wouldn't be dropped for 'dreamtime at the G'. If he mopes around again next week I'll be expecting him to be dropped.

    Joel Bowden you're all class

Lots of composure. Leon Cameron like. At times shocking disposal. Very un-Cameron like. I don't think the comparison is all that valid, but at least Joel has influence and has taken the step of trying to sort things out back there, because after god knows Gaspar can't do it.

    good win, luck

I agree on that. I suppose the one thing it does do is it removes another situation for a contested mark, but most teams had shyed away from kicking to contests from kick ins a few years ago anyway. But I do like the fact that you can turn around a conceded behind to a goal in 25 seconds.

    Coughlan knockers.

Got a lot of it again last night. There was a passage of play that summed up the issue I have with him with 4 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. He gets the ball on the wing with no one for 30 metres. First bounce goes completely wrong and bobbles on the turf, he picks it up and then takes a...

    Changes V Essendon

Rodan was poor. There was a comical situation in the second quarter I think when Tambling broke clear, over shot his pass to an open Krak, who ran too close to Rodan and kicked it into his back, then Johnson had it clear inside 50, wouldn't shoot for goal and gave it straight back to Carlton...

    good win, luck

Thought we were very lucky. No offence to Carlton but just about any other team would have smashed us last night given the number of times we gave it straight back to them. The umpires gave us all the 50/50's too, some perplexing decisions but we'll take them I suppose.
