Got a lot of it again last night. There was a passage of play that summed up the issue I have with him with 4 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. He gets the ball on the wing with no one for 30 metres. First bounce goes completely wrong and bobbles on the turf, he picks it up and then takes a second bounce. I swear he hasn't actually looked up into the forward line at this stage. He's not sprinting, just ambleing along. He finally gets round to kicking it and it is the usual floating punt into the forward pocket where Simmonds has absolutely no chance at all.

Cogs knows how to get the ball, whether its extracting from the middle of a pack or finding space on the wing. His delivery into the forward line is sub-standard, is unable to get penetration in his kicking. Needs someone running past for a handball to finish his good work.
By the way, handing out of the balls after a win is great for the kids. Cogs handed the ball to a kid next to my son, but gave my a boy a very friendly pat on the head. He was rapt.

IMO Cogs is back to his best form. He is in the middle of packs exracting the ball aas good as i have seen him doing it. He adds a real hardness to our midfield and really is a key to our success.
