Essendons next flag not too far away

some excellent and well thought out posts by btdg. The only things i would point out is that of Essendons midfielders only mcveigh and welsh will be past their prime in 3 years, you would think Watson, Winderlich and Stanton would be around the same level, (possibly winderlich improving if he...

    Delisted #2: Ricky Dyson

Re: 2. Ricky Dyson The only person who even implied that was Kelvin, I just said he had a bad game and then justified why.

    Delisted #2: Ricky Dyson

Re: 2. Ricky Dyson That's definitely true, as a sidenote though Selwood was in Geelongs top 3 players, so he didn't do too well in holding the other person out of the game either.

    Delisted #2: Ricky Dyson

Re: 2. Ricky Dyson Disposal efficiency is one of the most flawed stats in football. A 60 metre bullet pass that get's dropped by an incompetent teammate is inefficient whilst a hospital handball or a behind kicked while alone in the goal square is efficient. He had a bad game, as a...

3 - Stanton 2 - Hooker 1 - Reimers Reimers was excellent, just didn't get it enough whenever he had the ball something happened and his tackling was also a standout. Gumbleton had a bad game but being his first match since his debut season that's to be expected. Though Neagle had those...

    Carlton might win wooden spoon

It takes all of 2 seconds to look it up if you don't have the mental capacity to remember things like Tayte Pears soundly beating Fevola. You should probably try it.

    Carlton might win wooden spoon

Fev kicked 4.7 in round three against Darcy Danhier and a mere 2.2 against tayte pears in round 13.

    Reimers....

I'm confident his spot in the side will be unquestioned by the end of the year provided he remains injury free.

Is it National Essendon Week ?

Neagle has had injuries the majority of his career.

Is it National Essendon Week ?

No he won't take the best forward, unless of course Pears is injured.

Is it National Essendon Week ?

Hurley showed more in one half than any key forward on Carlton's list has in their career. Lloyd and Lucas weren't really playing that well, with Velvet only kicking 15 goals in his last 9 games and Lucas really not doing much all season. I'm pretty sure Essendon will be fine.

How do you build a forward line around Jay Neagle...

    I realise this isn't a serious thread but anyway http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_compare?tid1=6&pid1=1645&tid2=20&pid2=302&type=A&fid1=O&fid2=O Jay Neagle Brendan Fevola 21yr 10mth Age Turned 21 in 2002 191cm...

    What could have happened, if...

Nice backpedal but the PP rule was the only one that stopped Essendon getting Selwood. You have no idea of what order Carlton rated Gumby/Hansen/Thorp/Boak/Leunberger/Selwood. I'm pretty sure they didn't change anything that would rule out Gibbs being a F/S anyway. He needed to play 200 games...
