What are peoples thoughts on how Beams will effect the other Collingwood midfielders scores? I'm assuming given he will share midfield minutes that the likes of Pend/Adams/Treloar/Sidey will all have a small drop off this season?

yeah for me, its going to be a JLT watch and a possible first few rounds watch before i select Collingwood midfielders. I just wanna see how they work together first before selecting one and wasting a trade.

Kreuzer and Whitfield
V
Goldstein and Blakely?
Id be backing in Goldy and Blakely (both can go 100+) and both have big upside this year, Goldy with no second ruck in sight and then Blakely with a move in the Midfield.
Where as Kruezer (80-90) and Whitfield can go 100+ but also is susceptible to a tag and multiple scores of 60.

Was leaning towards Goldy/Blakely. Really feel like Goldy is one of the safer R2 options. No one to come in and steal points at North and came home strong last year, like 105 from his last 10 so maybe some upside there. Blakely another who could be potentially 10 points under priced where there’s probably not too much growth left in Whitfield

Doing a little analysis. What do we think these two combos avg?

Macrae (120) & Wingard (90)

Or

Kelly (115) & Menegola (100)

Given that the stats lean towards the latter, why does number 1 feel ‘better’ ?

Because due to Macrae's hamstring game and Wingards slow start as a forward they both represent value pick whereas Kelly and Menegloa are not discounted at all

Will have to see if Blakely gets more mid time and whether this is actually good or bad for his scoring.

Blakely is quoted as saying he’ll have a mid/half back role. Think that’s going to be a good role. Will get touches in the midfield, and still get his +6’s in the back half. Think he goes 95+ comfortably

Macrae discounted because of an injury affected game but kelly not discounted? do yourself a favour and do some research on Kellys last season.

DUDE!!
I didn't want to see your crack.....

No room for 'Old Man'?
Simpson? he will be around the mark juts outside those. may get a slight bump with the kick in rule, i dont predict any big decline due to another year older, Ill guess around that 98ish level like the last 2 on that list.

If I was selecting a team for my final teamed have no qualms with him over anyone outside those top 3, especially with Sicily always prone to suspension. Or if he has a down patch and came more cheaply than those guys then id be all over him as trade in

There's so many blokes I want to roll the dice on this season. Off the top of my head Jarrod Berry, Trent Dumont, Adam Cerra, James Worpel even Tom Rockliff has been written off completely. There are plenty of others that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I seriously don’t have time to play multiple formats..... I can’t do one properly....

At the start of every season I join Supercoach and about 5 tipping sites and by round 3 I'm just playing Fantasy. Throw in NRL fantasy as well which I waste my time on making a team annually.

Problem with Rockliff is he plays for Port still. Completely unreliable scoring

My advice would be that if you want to roll the dice on them - select your absolute favourite and then keep 200-300k in the bank so you can upgrade a rookie to one if they do well in the first two weeks.

You'd be leaving some points on the table which would go missing in the first two but you guarantee you get the one performing well and you aren't stuck with underperforming mid pricers.

Alternatively take two so you can one up one down them if they dont come off

Not sure if this has been talked about yet but with Shiel coming in does that mean Smith's midfield time could drop? You've got Shiel, Merrett, Heppell, Smith and Zaharakis as the 'big 5' midfielders in the team so surely someone's scores will suffer.

Top 6 defenders and their average?

Top 6

Lloyd 103.6
Laird. 102.8
Blakely 101.9
Whitfield 97.4
Simpson 96.2
Mills (if he gets the mid role) 95.2

Next 6 (just outside, av. of 85-95)

Witherden
Sicily
Hurn
Hanley
Newman
Wiliams

Just a prediction, haha

Smith's a reigning Crichton medalist, can't see them taking his mid time away. Especially when that was his main reason for leaving the Giants and going to the Bombers. Think it'll be Zaka and Heppell that will have their mid time go down. Most likely Zaka.
