Does anyone recall the rumour that Fasolo was offered three years but the leaders didn't like that idea and Fasolo took on the one year 'to prove himself'
Great start mate.

I don't care what version of events he gave the club and making excuses for personality type.
Either we made a mistake in recruiting him, or he bluffed us and was never going to be as dedicated as he suggested he would be.

So he gets a second chance. Good on him, but try a little harder next time Fas. You didn't try hard enough in round one and it's unlikely more excuses will be accepted should there be a round 2. Watch those gutters. They're dangerous.

So basically it was just general horse play and sonething went wrong.

Face it if it was a guy people wanted to succeed he wouldn't be crucified over it. He wasn't in a pub fight, he didn't het intoxicated and really embarrassed the club, but lets act like he did because it's Fasolo.

Should just ban players from leaving the house unless jettisoned in bubble cars by the club to and from the venues pre approved. Contact with family and friends strictly prohibited.

No one is saying that. Hang out with your friends. Have fun. But if you do something stupid that injures yourself be prepared for the consequences.

His body is his assest/ work tool/ source of income. Accidents happen, but just don't break it needlessl.

If you own a bobcat and it's your source of income and you damage it at work so be it. If you take it to a party and have bobcat battles against your friend and break it it's a different story.

Who is to say his "version" isn't the truth? Who is making excuses for him?

To suggest we made a mistake in bringing him in or to query his dedication to the extent you have on the back of this incident is a massive over-reaction.

He had a few drinks at a mates place on Straya Day, like every other 18-60 yr old in the country (bit of a generalisation), but stiff shit, could’ve happened to anyone.
I’d be more pissed off if Crippa got injured in AFLX.......ffs

Excuses, excuses.
Can anyone imagine reading; Cripps was fighting with mates when he fell and broke his arm?
He and in particular Bolton would be livid. They'd have very right to be and maybe not so forgiving, either.

So Carlton will investigate.
I just wonder to what lengths can one investigate given the circumstances given.
Do you wait for someone to make a private call to the club and even then, what do you do? No security footage at someones home.
Always someone with a phone though, willing to knock over a tall poppy (relatively tall poppy, so to speak) I guess.
How many people could wrestle cripps to the ground.....

Dog ate my homework kinda story.
What a joke.
Can’t be too serious about reviving his career if he can’t handle his drink in preseason.
There's no proof he was even that intoxicated. Dane rampe tripped on a 15 cm high chain last pre season and broke his arm. Missed quite a while. Dumb shit happens.

There's so many things you can do in life as an outlet to take your mind from things.

If your avenue for doing that is alcohol then you're lacking in the grey matter to start with.

Get a hobby rather than hitting the bottle.

Hate this. People have their own means of dealing with all kinds of things, and sometimes the methods they choose aren't the healthiest. Who are you, to judge someone for their choices? Are you completely without fault? Tell us all the silliest thing you've done, by your own metrics, so that we can judge you for it.

Or, alternatively, accept that other people like a drink, and don't judge them for something that doesn't really concern you in any way whatsoever.

Obviously not happy about Fasolo as we can ill afford an injury to someone that we’ve bought in at his age/experience/role. But he’s only human and I am sure he didn’t aim to hurt himself.
It is what it is and we get on with it.
If it was just a playful wrestle than I can tell you I’d be even more pissed if the injury came about like Wines’ did - now that would really jerk my chicken!

Hopefully Polson, Bugg or a similar type steps up in Fasolo’s absence.

I know, but that extra disappointment is always there for these outside of football, and often unnecessary, injuries.

It's just that this sort of shit just seems to come about to individuals you're not surprised to be reading about.

Anyway, I wonder how Fasolo felt the next morning when he knew what was in front of him? Terrible, I'd guess.

Depends how he responds in the end. Either he capitulates or does what De Goey did and go the extra mile in effort and that translates on the field.

No point in sacking him now, as I said he didn't so anything unforgivable in a criminal sense, bar may be set higher for him to stay next year and beyond but as I meant to imply, not over yet.

Whilst I agree to a point, there is certainly the opposing argument of you chose a career that had certain frameworks attached to it …. Like a professional piano player who makes his/her living tinkling the ivories wouldn't go into an arm wreslting comp ….

A chess guru wouldn't go out Liverpool kissing .....

AFl requires your body to perform ………

I'm not objecting to the characterisation that perhaps he shouldn't have been wrestling. What I didn't like in the post was the judgement of Fasolo based on his apparent enjoyment of a drink.

It's one thing to say that a job has certain requirements. It's quite another to make a call on someone's level of intellect based on something they did during their time away from their jobs.
