As in claim I live in my own country.

Basically I’m going to just have to cop it. Lesson is if you speed in a roadworks area you will be treated as harshly as someone doing the same speed on a suburban street.

Learn from my mistake people and take care everyone
So what was the outcome?

Very ****ing harsh.
The penalty dished out to you will be equal to that of someone being reckless and culpable to of dangerous driving.
You were only reckless in being 10km per hour over not 60km.
Technically the law will **** you.
You are entitled to apply for a SHO or special hardship order.
That is you require your license to generate an income of which you can not live without and will cause you financial hardship.
I would recommend using your money to pay a lawyer to file a SHO on your behalf rather pay a lawyer to defend the charge.
Or look up in your local community legal services. You will get a pro-bono lawyer for free.

I got 12 months and they did me for dangerous driving, as they had a pic with a worker on the side of the road (which was taken after I had driven through there)

No criminal conviction and get my licence back in December. I’m lucky I’ve got people who can get me places if I really need to get anywhere, this far hasn’t effected my work at all and work aren’t worried as long as I can get places. Being in an IT industry I can do a lot of work remotely, even though I have clients all over Victoria.

People have gone on and on about how it’s harsh but end of the day, I’ve still got my job, my house and can get places I’ve moved on really, the worst has already happened.

Great to see your positive outlook on this. I think many other people would compare this scenario to the world ending.

Well I got into solution mode a fairly long time before my suspension actually began (which was over 4 months from when I did it to when the eventual court date was).

I’m lucky I’ve been at the same company for a long period of time so there is a level of trust there, so they aren’t concerned, And it hasn’t effected me doing my job at all.

Would be quite different if I was a delivery driver, didn’t live close to public transport and didn’t have people willing to drive me around at times.

Interesting reading... if I read this properly you are saying the police informant had falsified his evidence and perverted the course of justice...and you pled up?

Well was going to be my word against theirs with the road work guy.

They would of said I was 51km over the limit and wording of had any idea that someone was there or not.

Your statement would have been supported by the fact that your vehicle was not impounded as hoon legislation applies to vehicles exceeding the speed limit by 45kmh +.
If the officers genuinely had reasonable grounds to suspect you were travelling at 45 kilometres over the limit hence the dangerous driving charge they should have impounded your vehicle to protect the public.
Photos taken after the offence would not have swayed the magistrate but your legal counsel buckled.
