ROUND 4 SUMMARY

The 2018 grand finalists flex their muscles with thumping (15-0) wins over the hapless Dogs and Dockers. The Saints though are up and about, soaking the Hawks in a 14-1 demolition. Brett Ratten winning plaudits for bringing the premiership points with him, and new best mates Billy Slater and Eric Bana are going viral on social media after being captured hugging it out while third wheel Warne enviously looks on. Strong home ground wins also for the Cats (13-2) and the Bombers (12-3) over the Giants and the Lions. On the other hand the Tigers and Adelaide have had strong wins away, the tigers accounting for Port (10-5) and Adelaide dispatching North (11-4). In the matches of the round the Demons came from behind to triumph over the Swan (9-6) and the Blues clung on in a nail biter over the fast finishing Suns (8-7).

So at the end of Round 4 the Saints are well placed at fourth, battling 5 other teams to keep in touch with the undefeated Crows. Gold Coast's ambition to find some improvement in season 2019 is already beginning to look perilous and the Port Adelaide faithful are very, very agitated.

Round 5 lasts 5 days with matches on Thursday and Monday, and two Friday twilight games. It doesn't get any easier for the Suns who travel to Adelaide to take on the flying Crows, while North and the Bombers are facing off to see who can restart their season. In perhaps the match of the round, the Saints are looking to win their second on the trot against the Demons.

Lions vs Pies - in the first big upset the young Lions on the back of some strong perfomances grab their biggest scalp thumping the slow and lazy looking Magpies in Brisvegas the pies will rally late to make it a contest but the plucky lions will run it home teaching the pies a big lesson

North vs Bombers - in a similar vein to Thursday night the Bombers overwhelming favorites come up against North who from the first bounce bring the physicallity to upset the bombers, giving the rest of the comp a blueprint on how to beat the bombers North run out looking to hurt the bombers at every opportunity sometimes over stepping the rules with a few reports made .. end of the game North win the fight and take home the points

Eagles vs Port - the eagles keep on doing as they please making light work of Port in a one sided contest questions are asked yet again about the free kick differance with Port getting reemed by the umps and the eagles in the end the free kick count didnt cost them the game but it certainly make it impossible for any kind of fight back

Giants vs Dockers - the week after a brutal derby where a host of players copped fines and suspentions the dockers tak an undermanned side to GWS and pay dearly for it with the giants cruising to an easy win

Demons vs Saints - saints on a high after beating the hawks get a wake up call being held up by a more desperat more attacking Melbourne with the fans asking what happend to the free flowing team of last week as the saints look slow one dimensional and laconic .. in a game not for the archives the dees run out 4 goal winners.. calls for Max King to debut getting louder

Tigers vs Sydney - i goes bad to worse for the Swans as the tiger hold buddy goaless while cousin Jack kicks 7 in a huge night for the tigers

Dogs vs Blues - the first draw of the year .. bont and cripps going head to head in the battle of the players who are early favorites for the brownlow in a see-saw game the dogs will tak control only for the blues to fight back in the end it will come down to one kick with SPS having the chance to level it all up after the siren.. calls for extra time in draw dominante the airways

Crows vs Suns - in a much better showing by the suns they get withing 4 goals of the crows in a game that Don Pyke switches things up in the team .. Tex walker lining up at CHB after half time has some comentators asking if it was a show of disrespect ...

Hawks vs Cats- the once epic battles betwwen these two turns into another snooze fest as both sides struggle to turn forward entrys into goals in a low scoring low skills game the cats do just enough for just long enough to take home the points

Must say you put some effort into your posts in this section Trav but Max will have only just started full contact training and wont have even played a game for Sandy , can we at least let him get through a few games first before we start beating drums , he doesnt need to be rushed in
