One will always be remembered as a loyal Hawthorn favorite son and the other a mercenary who cost himself 1-3 flags by walking. Probably thought he won the lottery when the $wines dangled a $10m carrot in front of him but there's a price to be paid for everything in life.

As a footballer Crawford is shamefully underrated these days & rarely spoken of in the same breath as the other great midfielders of his era.

Yup, heavily underrated. Carried the side for 10 years towelled up hird on numerous occasions yet the drug cheat is more revered.

We haven't really had a player like him since, O'meara probably the closest as an inside mid with pace and endurance.

Shane was lightning, hard and ran all day. Loved a goal too.
