One of the best utility midfielders in the comp.

Fyfe, Dangerfield, Martin in whichever order makes you happy then Bont then Yeo. Robbie Gray probably fits the same category, eventually De Goey also.

Not a top 10 mid, probably not a top 20 mid but a gun in the middle and reliable wherever you send him. An accomplished HBF (easiest position in modern footy) and now mid, is a great contested mark and can go forward and be a target. Not a goal a game player like Danger or Martin but the type of player you can push forward who will kick 2 or 3. Shuey and Gaff are arguably better mids but you're not going to put either of them one out in the square.

Elite half back... developing mid.

Totally agree, but he probably should've made the All Australian team as a ''developing mid''...Gonna be seriously good once he fully figures it out in there.

Said it in another thread but its rare you got midfielders with Elliot's talent that are so willing to work just as hard defensively.

One of the few genuine stars that the West gets back, I suspect 2 more years at Brisbane and he would of stayed there on a big contract.

Was really hoping sam mitchell would stay at least one more year - you can see his fingerprints all over yeos improvement.

Give yeo mitchells footy brain and you would have the absolute goat midfielder

Interesting.

Yeo and Mitchell couldn't be more different as midfielders. Yeo is explosive, can kick 55-60, is tall, can take a contested grab etc. Mitchell was supposed to be too short and slow to make it, couldn't kick over a jam jar (though excellent on both feet) and I don't remember ever seeing him take a hanger. Definitely would've been able to pass on knowledge about positioning etc. though.

Sams footy brain is amazing - stick it in yeos head and hed be a beast - yeo is pure athleticism - hasnt got the best footy nouse going - mitchell always seemed to have that extra bit of time to assess and then pick the right option

Pendlebury is the same - its like they get to freeze time for a second - so lovely to watch

Except against us !!

He was in beast mode last night. We were losing that game until he stepped up in the 3rd quarter and just stopped the bleeding and turned the game around.
He was great from the get go - without him and hurn wed have been thrashed like a red headed stepchild

27 touches and 15 tackles. Guy is like a Priddis with speed.
That makes no sense.

Priddis was a bull butcher, handballing to players feet, rubbish marker, lacked a penetrating kick and had a patented helicopter floater kick. His speciality was a hacked kick forward.

His play never amounted to any play that resulted into a positive chain or score...

A momentum killer.

The opposition never tagged him, they would prefer he gather 40 rubbish disposals.

All things considered some good drafting from Brisbane, getting him with pick 30. Their recruiters really nailed a lot of picks in that go-home period.

He was also a tackling machine.

I see by your username theres no debating with you, so I'll move on.

It's no surprises that they now have probably the best young list in the comp. They're good at finding talent, just unfortunately for them there was a period when the rest of the club was a bit of a mess.
