What a strange outburst from Robb. Is it the loss of $800K that he is worried about or something else.

Another ex LP member having a go at the security services. Seems that this is their own football.

The former trade minister Andrew Robb, who took an $880,000 job with a Chinese company as soon as he left parliament, has blasted his former party room colleagues and Australia’s security agencies for creating a “toxic” relationship with China.

Speaking to the ABC, Robb said he blamed his former parliamentary colleagues, particularly Barnaby Joyce and Malcolm Turnbull, for souring relations between the two nations, and said Australia’s security agencies needed to prove its claims China was a threat.

“… We had our deputy prime minister last year stand up in front of a Channel Nine TV camera and say ‘I want all Australians to know that Isis is not a security threat, China is our security threat’. That is irresponsible,” Robb told the ABC.

He also claimed Australia’s security agencies needed to put up or shut up in their criticisms of China.

“The evidence is not there,” he said. “We see a lot of nose-touching by the security people: ‘If you only knew what I know, you’d be horrified.’

One of Julie Bishop's great legacies as foreign minister. Toxic relations with our biggest trading partner. Well done, Julie!

So there you have it. A choice between what our major trading partner thinks of us, and what 'people smugglers' think of us

He's a paid lobbyist for the Chinese, doing exactly what they're paying him to do - trying to make the Chinese look like good guys, and the Aust Government's refusal to kowtow to Chinese wishes as being irresponsible.

His comments have nothing to do with him being an ex-LNP Minister, and everything to do with the $800k he's pocketing for doing his current job.

My reference re another LP member having a go at the security services was in reference to the recent Senate hearings where the heads of those departments stated that the Government shouldn't be using them for political purposes or in Robb's case for his own pocket.

Meh... Robb has been gone from parliament for almost 3 years, and his comments here are clearly at the behest of his current clients (i.e. China). There is nothing at all to indicate that his comments have anything to do with his LNP affiliation. If anything, his current position is in direct conflict with existing LNP policy.

I know, I know. I found the idea of the LNP actually having a policy (other than "but Labor") to be somewhat absurd too.
You are still not getting my point but nevermind.

Facebook trolls and scammers from Kosovo are manipulating Australian users

A network of popular Facebook pages that have built large audiences catering to Australians agitated over hot button issues such as Islam, refugees and political correctness is under the control of trolls and scammers from the Balkans

Of course right wing ****wits are all up in arms attacking the ABC on their FB page about this :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

Lookin at ASIO and HOME AFFAIRS like

With the election able to be won in Victoria alone (based on the story that 12 of the 14 Lib seats in Vic are in danger of falling to Labor), Shorten must be think he has been kissed on his 'old fella' with Dan Andrews as Premier

Victoria has the potential to do very, very well with Andrews and Shorten in charge.

Kudos to both. I'm a huge fan of Penny Wong. Labor would do well to consider a move to the Reps as she has leadership written all over her. Watch out Bill.;)

UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE
I too think she is great. Can't say it was a biased panel either.

Peter Costello becomes chairman of the merged Nine/Faifax (The Age) media conglomerate

Costello was a former Treasurer in Howard's cesspool
Today 3 stories appear in The Age all either supporting or doing a puff piece for Frydenberg

Of course this is all pure coincidence
