About the only thing of interest to come out of a meeting yesterday with Barnaby and O'Dowd was Barnaby preaching to us that the Nat's MUST move further to the right to counter the SFF after the NSW fiasco.
The point that I, and others, (there were only 20 people in total), made with regards to the Nat's actually representing us, instead of cosying up to the big end of town, had that stupid f***ing head positively glowing in his famous beetroot shade as he berated us.
He is a buffoon and I took quite a deal of pleasure in telling him to piss off.
O'Dowd was his usual useless, lap-dog self.

Did they not heed the SFF lesson? The SFF took the vote because they listened to the bush

Well done to you that at least you attend meetings and have a say, even just to get of your chest.

Obviously not. The point was raised that moving the Nat's further right would just align them with PHON, but that went straight over his head.
And you are dead right. SFF went well in NSW because they have actually listened.
Something us smaller farmers have not had from the Nat's for many a year and yesterday was no different.

I actually wanted to give O'Dowd a piece of my mind over a local issue, and I did. He sat their like a mute Shitzu taking notes and nodding sagely. Nothing will be done, but he's lost Flynn anyway. Absolutely shithouse member.
Nat's lost my and so many other votes long ago.
I believe that they'll have an even worse result in Qld than what we just saw in NSW.
People are bloody angry.

They really don't get it.....

They really don't get it.....

They don't. Not even close.
One old cocky, who all of us respect immensely, teed off and said 'it used to be called the bloody Country Party, and for a bloody good reason".
He got stonewalled.
That was one of 4 meetings in our region yesterday and I have talked to plenty who attended other meetings who were none too impressed.
They are right on the nose at present and don't have a clue on how to regain confidence.
Personally, I think they'll be in the political wasteland within 10 years as the rusted on, older people, die.

Right wing arseclown and grovelling sycophant Chris Kenny plumbs hitherto unknown depths of stupidity.

Goodness me, what an absolute plonker. Someone who writes for a living doesn't even know how to open a dictionary. But then, the Australian always did like them incredibly goddamn stupid.

My god , surely he's broken the record for " Most self-owns " in a single year

We need a gameday thread for the Budget.

Josh Fraudberg saying his piece. A budget surplus built on the back of:

1. Slashing and lying about it ('record funding')

2. A gift from iron ore prices. Commodity prices. They giveth and they taketh away.

'Our commitment to fairness' LOL I almost fell off my chair hearing that from the Liberal Party.

You forgot #3. They are only in surplus because their mega tax cuts for big businesses got blocked. Lying filth.

Almost a quarter of the surplus comes from an under spend on the already struggling NDIS. Taking money from Australia's most disadvantaged citizens to try and save the sinking ship. Despicable.
then add no hand out for the poorest people but tax cuts for the rich
Nothings changed

I don't understand.

They budgeted for $x to be spent. The demand for services ended up being less. So less $ was needed.

Now, unless you mean the Government sneakily knocked back lots of otherwise legitimate demand for NDIS services/packages...do you have some evidence of this?

The shortfall is due to delays in approving providers to the NDIS, and approving funding plans for participants.

The money only gets spent when a participant gets the nod, and they find a provider they can use

There is no shortfall. They've spent how much has needed to be spent. When more funding plans for potential participants are approved, then more will be spent.

I'm unsure of what we're supposed to be outraged about here. Nice try from Labor though (and thanks to their stooges here for copying their lame-arse attack lines!).

100% wrong

There is a shortfall because people in NSW and Sa are not receiving services they need because of the two issues I mentioned.

They are due and entitled and need these servicee, but the admin is holding them up from receiving them

That’s what parliament is for. Example upon example about go slows in Centrelink etc

But they are too weak to even hold the right amount if sitting days
