North poster - here..

Your team was sensational today. Credit where credit is due, your side was smarter, harder, and more prepared than we were.

Expect some future positive signs from this game. Your team blitzed through our whole side consistently on the counter. We had no answers. Get excited whilst we scratch our heads.

Good luck with the rest of 2019!

Very interesting watching the game live.

The positioning at the stoppages was a lot smarter, trusting their team mates to win the ball and feed it out to them.

It made us look so much faster.

Hope for the best for Vickers-Willis.

Very happy with the win, the boys played very well.

It's great to have some key forwards to allow MCarthy to be third tall so he can have games like that.

Hamlin and Pearce dominated the North forwards!

I hope Cunnington gets a couple of weeks for all the dirty sniper hits he did today. I thought he was a pretty good player until this afternoon, not anymore!!

I'm rapt for you guys onto top of the Brisbane game I reckon your w/end was even better for you guys than for us
.......and ours was pretty good. The 6-6-6 has forced our Ken into a more dynamic style maybe the same for Lyon?
Anyway i'm outta here but well done lads. Enjoy your week

There were very few times that guys tried to kick to guys in ‘better’ positions, which was something that used to drive me nuts. Guys running straight at the goals would then screw kick it yo someone 15m closer but on a shit angle. They’ve been given permission to go for it if they think they’re in a good enough position. They’ll miss a few, but look at Tucker’s and Dardy’s long range goals from outside 50 - it’s instinctive and team lifting.
Finally they’ve been let off the leash. 🥳

honestly, never been a fan of port but the way you guys played was very very impressive. some of the best ball movement we’ve seen so far and that young quad of yours looks to be ready made to impact

It contrasted to the days of Suban, where we held the ball up waiting for a more certain option. Our movement by hand at the tempo we played today, we would have spudded it up somewhere in the chain back in 2012-2015.

Then as now, I think the intent is to use the tools at hand to their best effect, sure if it's dark and raining you could grab a butter knife out of the kitchen to tighten one screw instead of going to the shed, but as a carpenter doing someones back deck, you'd only whip the butter knife out to make your sandwhich. When you are deficient in skill, throw the lesser skilled playing group hard at the opponents, put them under pressure and make them play below their ability. Well, we've got the skill now it would seem and it merits using the tools at hand differently.

Back to Earth a little bit on Tabs and a little bit McCarthy. They wont get too much an easier game given EVW went out early and they were already underdone down there.

Cox will be breathing down Tab's back come round 3/4 so he would want to show today was more than playing on someone 2 foot smaller than him.

With how McCarthy was today, I think there is room for Lobb, Hogan, Cox/Tabs and himself since I see him as a different player to the other 4, especially if he brings the same pressure each week.

I think you nailed it

but im still salivating about our future forward line
lobb cox bennell
walters Hogan mccarthy

all can genuinely kick a bag. imagine if sturt develops into a goal kicking flanker

I like the optimism on Bennell but you can move Switta there and I'm happy since there is enough goal scoring potential there to add a little bit more defensively anyway

I still don't know what to make of that. We looked sensational, but North were utterly abysmal. The way they kept handing us the ball coming out of the backline must have had every North fan tearing their hair out.

I'd like to think it was our elite pressure that caused it, but i'll hold court for now. At worst, I reckon some players will get some confidence out of it.
