My favourite part of this gameday thread is when I go back through it, and have a real look st all the chicken littles losing their minds for a game that in the long run of things means nothing.

Can’t see us playing that bad again in 2019
Sack Simmo

As Simmo said intent wasnt there.

We wont be winning many matches if we put in the effort we did.

But we will.

One positive is all the other upsets this round makes it easier to deal.

Melbourne and Adelaide losses felt way more of an upset I actually thought we'd battle to win v brisbane

If we play horrible and lose next week I'll start being a little concerned.

We could bounce back, unfurl the flag, have a decent win and be sitting top 4 this time next week.

Early days.

Eagles and Collingwokd both lost rd1 last year.

One game without Sam Mitchell running our mids and we’re back to looking like 2016.....coincidence or something more? ;)
It was like the North game last year. Seemed like we couldn't win anything in the midfield. Hopefully it's their trash performance out of the way.

When you’re setup like that why would you assume you’re clear? Is there any downside to setting yourself for a contest and no one competing?

The fact that hodge is more than likely going to kill it doesn’t mean you just let him. Hodge barely brushed Masten to get to the ball.

Noones denying it was Yeos fault but there was plenty of things Masten could have done that was better than what he did.
Masten kept his eyes on it, he didn't know where Hodge was coming from.

If a player was coming down the line then his body would have been in the way, but Hodge came in from the 45 and deliberately avoided Masten's body to avoid giving away a free.

Things didn't go well for Vardy and the conditions didn't really help that, but I didn't think his effort was too bad.

Vardy was terrible, but wasn't he under a cloud for some reason? I recall people on here saying he might be an out. Then he nearly knocked himself out. Maybe he has an out for yesterday, but Hickey was putrid - no second effort and underpowered against Stephen Martin. Brooksby would have been the better partnering.
