Analysis Pies tame the Tigers by 44 pts - Rd 2, 2019

My prediction of the Tigers not making the 8 is starting to look better. If Jack has a break in his hand that will be 2 of their stars injured. Plus they looked very ordinary last night. It’s a shame really after they were gonna win a 5 peat according to Tigers fans last year.

It’s not a hand. If it’s a break it’s going to be the wrist.

How good was it to see 40,000 Richmond fans streaming out of the mcg at the 15 min mark of the last qtr!! And they call themselves loyal lol

Anyway brilliant game boys. Our centreline and Grundy destroyed Richmond. Cox played well in the second half and De Goey is special.

Big test next week v eagles. Play like we did tonight and we win by 5 goals

Anyone else get nervous AF whenever Roughead goes to kick it? Luckily he doesn't usually bite off more than he can chew.

I was unsure what I thought about Thursday night games, but to be honest it's awesome hearing the radio interviews and discussions today whilst at work.

Hopefully we can carry the form into next week, because essentially all we have done is got ourselves back to 1-1 which is just square one.

Tigers supporters blaming the free kick count :'(

April 2018 27 to 16 in our favour - they won by 43 points.

July 2018 19 to 16 in our favour - they won by 28 points

Sep 2018 18 to 15 in our favour - they lost by 39 points

Last night 25 to 9 in our favour - they lost by 44 points

To be fair, in September they had gastro and last night they had injuries.

Gee if Riewoldt has broken his scaphoid, the doctors and coaching staff have a lot to answer. He did it in the 2nd qtr, gave him a jab and sent him back on and played in the ruck.
Also wasn't that the injury Gerard Healy had that finished his career? Shame if so as Richmond can't afford to lose him too.

We certainly know about injuries to key players.

I was on their board about the frees but I'll leave it now, they're still in full on rage mode and not seeing clearly which is fair enough.

But I'm unsure how a team that didn't touch the football or lay any tackles expected more free kicks.

"But the ones that didn't get paid"

Yeah? Do they think the umpires didn't miss ANY the other way? Like, last night was one of the most statistically lopsided games of football ever. You're not going to get many frees when you don't have the ball or chase it. The "missed" frees goes both ways.

Has anyone mentioned Greenwoods game?

He plays last week and we win simple.
Probably would have added that grunt v Geelong. That good “nasty” bite to proceedings.
But who knows the impact? I’d sugggest better than Brown. But Greenwood is so seasoned.

I thought he was terrific really dulled Martin.

Once or twice you saw how good Martin is, that incredible strength and cleverness, he’s elite.
But Greenwood blunted him so well. Big for us.

A Thursday night loss makes for an extra long weekend for the Tigers. And TTRRAAVVIISS. Hi mate!

Haha glad they got the win. Still thought it was 3/4 qtrs of so so football and overuse of the ball. Richmond bombed at least 7 shots at goal from turnovers which a more classy side may have made us pay for. Richmond do have about 5 or 6 jarrod Blair types running around. Hardly the quality or depth of mids we have. Was anyone seriously expecting anything less than a 7 goal win? Great 4th qtr though.

I don’t like the gamestyle. I don’t like the coaches philosophy at all. Still give up red time goals consistently. And until that changes, this “take unnecessary risks at all costs” mentality, will continue to be the achilles heal in close games where teams lock us down.

You can yap at me all ya like, end of the day if we ain’t holding the cup at the end of the year, with this playing group, responsibility lies with the coach. He’s already bombed the unlosable GF in 2018 with a nonexistent ability to drill the playing group to stop red time goals. 29 points up in the first qtr and they conceded goals in red time each and every qtr. They leaked red time goals vs Cats and again last night.

Now with Beams added to the 2019 playing group, honestly, anything less than a minor premiership (18-4) and winning the GF by 10 goals is basically under achieving. This playing group is basically Geelong of 2007.

Pure domination of the league in 2019 is the only acceptable outcome to me. Otherwise it’s a “weeeelll it’s a stacked list he’s got to work with, more player talent than actual game plan and strategy that eeked out a 16 point win in the GF”. I mean, seriously, could you imagine what Clarkson could do with this list? Your taking about an undefeated season...

Wells
Sier
WHE
Adams
Shazza

Complete me.

I would give up on Wells. Doubt he will play AFL ever again. In 2010 the kids passed a number of senior servants of the club. Club will go for kids over Wells I would think.

The sad truth is the Mayne trade has proven to be better value.

Yawn

Well bigfooty has its own winner of the tin foil hat.

And there can be no possible challenger.

Im dumber for reading a few lines of a post not too long a go.

Suspect does not barrack for the Magpies.

Wow that’s some crazy stuff there.

Can someone let me know where I can find stats for games please
AFL.com

Go to game and tap into match centre.

If you have pc or iPad you can even tap into advanced stats.

Ok thanks for laying out the ground rules and your expectations.
No need for you to comment on him again until then.

PS: Your obsessive, passionate dislike for Bucks makes me wonder which former player you might be

If Wells gets to fitness, he’ll be the cream.

He ofcourse may not get there but if it’s say finals, who would you rather have kicking the ball to De Goey and Cox and Elliott....

Wells or Thomas or Callum Brown or Aish even or Varcoe or Greenwood...

Give me a ten game stretch of Wells being well and we don’t give the ball back like we did v Geelong.
The delivery to Cox and De Goey and Elliott will be sublime poetry.

Anyway that’s my take. Might not happen but we’d be a better team with him in, than not.

I’m wondering who they really barrack for?
I’d be finding another sport.
