That wasn't a towering mark.

THIS was a towering mark.

I could watch that clip all day...…..that was a truly magnificent mark.

As Gary Lyon said on the foxtel broadcast.....memories of Bark's great mark at the lake oval came flooding back.

From memory........Bark's took another great hanger at Windy Hill too.

Neil Elvis Winmar took a similar one over the Bombers on the wing at Moorabbin too.

Completely different players imo. And yes I know they both play forward and go into the midfield

Yeah he was a gun the other night and keeps looking more and more like a match winner. People are comparing De Goey to Abblett Senior due to his aggression and big moment plays. I was against throwing big money at him but now I see why. He's still got improvement but **** he's good. Gresh is heading towards our best player already though and is a big moment player but with a little less fanfare.

They are both guns but like most marking players which Degoey can be they get talking up more and earn more.

and get 16 possessions a game each and kick 1.2 goals a game each and can each win games of their own boot.
Ok. If you think they similar then fine. Maybe degoey is talked up more because the media don’t like the saints. Or just maybe the fact that he is taller and can take an overhead mark

I will go with the second option. As I said both potentially great players but completely different

You should like degoey. You have always seemed keen to have more marking forwards

Oh yes dct66....I'd forgotten about that one.....absolutely spectacular.

I was extremely fortunate that he took that just to the left of me that day......had an absolute full on view of the mark.

And of course.....that game was against.....the Bombers.

Is De Goey taller than Gresh?

Thanks didn't know that - I'll have to follow the game more closely.

I thought they may have been the case considering you were trying to compare them. Makes sense now. Glad I told you they are different heights. If you thinking of comparing Caleb Daniel to rowan Marshall they also different heights. Fyi

Speaking of the great Trevor Barker....I was just on the Western Saints(Perth) Facebook page looking for some info for this coming weekend(st_trav has gone MIA) and they had a tribute clip for Trevor...….it certainly brings a lump to the throat.......it goes for about 1.5 minutes and has so many of his great marks.

It brought back so many memories for me.

It's really worth a look.

Controversial call: Taking McCartin over Petracca was the right move.

Unfortunately we just couldn't have possibly seen Paddy's concussion issues coming, so unlucky.
Could see them coming like the Southern Aurora. Shocking decision and the worst waste of a number one pick in history. Even if Petracca ends up just a GOP, Paddy's career is effectively over at 35 games. Any competent recruiter would've done the research and found type 1 diabetics have enormous risks attached. A quick call to a competent endocrinologist would've sorted things. Another howler from the incompetent fool, the trout. Thank god he's gone. And to Essendope where he belongs. Good riddance.

Yes I think it is Gary Lofts too (No 16).

Are Diabetes sufferers more likely to be concussed? Cos if thy arent your post makes no sense.

Why was Caro’s Arrow pointing at the Saints on FC? Won’t show the video as I live overseas. Curious as to why she would have a go at us. Something about Hannebery again? Boring if it is.....

She mentioned that it was interesting how we were so upfront when announcing Billings taking over Roberton’s slot but because the other announcement was done so quietly it made it appear that we had something to hide. (not in those exact words) - consequently getting a lot more publicity than it should have.

She made it clear that she wasn’t implying that it was anything that Hanners had potentially done...it was more that reputations were on the line, probably because of the recruitment in the first place and whether it’s going to pay off

We’ve all heard the rumours of the friendship between Hanners’ family and Lethlean being part of the reason the trade happened.

Long story short, if you are upfront about something instead of doing it stealthily it’ll be a one day story as opposed to dragging on for 3/4 days.

She did finish with a compliment about our game on Saturday.

Well they do get more severe symptoms and are slower to heal. It is well known to all except Tony Elshaug, apparently.

That’s weird because I thought I read that Billings was taking Hanners spot and had no idea Roberton had left the leadership group until a few days after they announced Hannebery left it.

And she has a fair point
even as a Saint supporter I think SL needs to be accountable on this one

Can’t believe that the main talking point from the Saints vs Bombers is how both Gaddafi & Kyle Broflovski ran to the interchange bench while the ball was in play. No mention on how good the Saints played, suppose flying under the radar could be a good thing. Although a little bit of credit to players and coaches wouldn’t go astray.

Not to mention the way they said hanners needs to step down from the leadership to fix his calf problems , im stlll laughing at that line
