But you see the Golden Company on the ship itself?

I can only assume it is the golden company, not knowing anything about them as i am not a book reader. Nor looked actively for info.

Just saying it could be anything, a clever diversion by the producers, a dream sequence etc

They touch on this in that link I posted yesterday:

that blond with his back to the camera is likely the Golden Company’s leader in A Dance With Dragons, Harry Strickland.

I think they wan't us to think its Jaime. If you watch the official trailer you can see he has two hands. Specifically his right hand.

Marc Rissman has been added to the season 8 cast, so it's probably him on the boat, playing the final new character of significance.

Just something to keep building hype amongst the fans and foreshadowing the one thing we all already know.
Winterfell is totally f***ed
seems that way. it would not be right if they fought in the first or second episode, and won. THen what?

Epics like this need sadness and a feeling of helplessness. Then the euphoria of a backs ot the wall victory

Miguel Sipochnik (probably spelt that wrong) is directing episode 3 and 5. He is the same guy who did the Battle of Bastards and Hardhome. So it's more than likely the first 2 episodes will be everyone going north and preparing Winterfell's defenses before the crazy ass battle in episode 3 where half the cast is killed.

Well...
Yep for sure its ep three. Apparently he was in demand for season seven also but due to scheduling conflicts he wasn't available to do the episodes.

I've heard that the battle scene in episode 3 is set to be the longest battle scene in movie/tv history. We will see.

If its the Battle for Winterfell, then it apparently took 55 Knights to film

RIP Stannis
The worst part of the show, how they completely butchered Stannis.

I never believed on-screen that they showed him as desperate enough that burning Shireen was believable.

Then he gets an offscreen death after an offscreen battle?

What a load of shit.

One of the worst characters I have ever seen for a tv show.

I think I read somewhere that the actor regretted playing him.

Yeah agree. Didn't have as much of a problem overall with the character as others seemed to but that death, wowee.

Was still convinced even halfway through last season that he was still alive purely coz we didn't see his death on-screen. Just a bizzare decision that one o_O

Interesting read (if this needs spoilers then let me know):

George R.R. Martin’s original A Song of Ice and Fire pitch is not a perfectly predictive document. His 1993 typewritten outline, unveiled in a since-deleted tweet by a British bookstore in 2015, contains plenty of oddities, at least viewed from an updated understanding of the series: Robb dies in battle, not a wedding reception; Daenerys invades Westeros in a timely fashion instead of dawdling in Essos for books on end; Arya and Jon fall in love.

If i recall correctly the bolton horsemen circling around stannis from the flanks and some of stannis army fleeing to the forest was chilling
