I’d hate for that to happen. Aish had a few bad kicks last week, but as a general rule is fairly neat by foot, whereas Greenwood’s kicking is haphazard at best. I don’t want someone like that coming out of defence. Our kicking out of the backline needs to be relatively accurate.

I personally don't have that large a differential between Greenwood & Aish in terms of use by foot. Aish loves a dinky 15-20m kick sideways, and really isn't capable of much more. Doesn't exactly require elite skills.

No way greenwood will be dropped, last week was massive and clearly should have been playing round 1. Was massive against the eagles early on in the GF. Aish wasn’t too bad last week but will be unlucky this week I think. Isn’t it nice to have selection issues? The last few years we’d always lose someone to injury, it’s been a nice early change to the season having players under pressure to hold their spots.

They are both as bad as each other IMO and according to stats.

Career average of kicking efficiency;
Aish - 58.9%
Greenwood - 56.3%

Greenwood went at 75% on the weekend by foot, first 2 rounds of the year Aish has gone at 66% and then 46% on the weekend. Funny thing about that too, as LeviPie points out, even with Aish's tendenancy to chip sideways all the time, he still has a terrible efficiency rating by foot. I'm not really sure how the myth of Aish's 'tidy' (or even silky as I've read on here in the past) continues to be perpetuated.

On recent form, you would probably think Varcoe makes way for Adams. But personally I would be taking Aish out. Some people make the argument for Greenwood, but both him and Varcoe offer a hard edge. Ive never been a rap for Aish and personally I don't think he adds much to the team. Sure he can get 20 disposals per game, but very rarely are they meaningful. His lack of pace also kills me and he simply isn't hard enough. I know its harsh but its how I see it.

Greenwood went to Shuey in the second half of the GF, but by that point he was off the chain already and Greenwood had pretty little influence on him.

Should've stayed on Yeo all day in hindsight, he was doing a great job on him and restricted him very well.

Nor does Greenwood get dropped. We need as many big bodies in the contest as possible.
