This reminds me of a long term dispute Plugger66, others and I had with some deadshit on SS about 5 years ago. Said deadshit was imploring the Saints to be "smart" and tank games for picks. Would go on and on, very passionate about cynically cheating the system, not a care for the potential damage caused to players or club.

Just look at the results of tanking years later. And for what? Scully, one of the two first draft picks they gained from ruining their reputation was eventually a really good player, but he left that club and its culture of failure ASAP.

For the people still think it's the smart logical thing to do, I hope this Demons saga proves a cautionary tale.

Yep. Ruined them for years. Only just coming good now and even so haven’t proved that much.

Essendon selections. The gift that keeps on giving. Woosha STILL hasn't done the big cleanout. Only Mitch Brown and Kyle Langford omitted. And Ridley, who Bombers fans were livid had been dropped for their game against us, hasn't been reinstated. Instead, it's just Mutch and Zac Clarke, the ex-Freo spud who's been playing in the WAFL and is now on their rookie list. That means they're playing Clarke AND Big Belly - two lumbering old-style rucks. Hilarious!

The picks that Liberatore made for us this year suggest that if he had of been there a year earlier we may have taken Tim Kelly at 7. Too hard to back over it though. It makes my heart hurt.

the Board must put in its corporate plan. No more wooden spoons/ rebuilds
Look at the Cats/ Hawks /Sydney , they just keep fine tuning there clubs
The game has changed , so much professionally off the field. A winning cultural the saints will become a club players
will come too.
Better players , who stay ,more members ,more sponsors Bigger match day games. better recruiters ( no jobs for the boys )

We used pick 21 on Hugh, they used pick 60 on Jordan (Who?) Cunico

Trade was fine. Drafting was poor. Ah, well at least we got Steele in the end. And Lonie and MacKenzie might yet be something.

There is an argument for Hugh Goddard being cruelled by injury, which is fairly unforeseeable and random.

Paddy was the pick which earned Trout a ticket to Adrian Dildo's Dungeon, but 2014 wasn't a great haul.

Stanley was a nearly man, a glimpse of potential at the Saints. What I'm more annoyed about us why we have had such underwhelming ruckmen since Gardi and King left us. We need a decent ruck coach.
