The only selection differential I would have made is Levi for Kennedy …. however he did not come up for the game. (1 too many talls)

Other than that it was a few mistakes made by the stoppage coach that cost us.

We gave first use too many times to the Suns in the general play stoppages and the centre ones.

Other than that (result aside) see major uplift. Nearly dug out a win. Gritty admirable loss. Had it on a plate but couldn't finish.

You must be the most optimistic poster on the Board to see today as "major uplift"

MC/coaching group have got it wrong every week. This week there are no excuses with the players available. If I see Zac Fisher within 2 metres of a stoppage I will go into SVT.

The issue then becomes; who do you want carrying & kicking the ball from stoppages if not Fisher? Cripps gets too much attention and Dow is burning the footy every time. Surely not Ed. The days of Murphy doing it are done.

I know Fisher forward would be very handy, but if anything it's Dow that has to go forward.

This year our combined losses are at 70 points.

Average losing margin about 17 points.

Last year our first four losses were 26, 34, 24 and today is literally one year to the day we lost to North by 86.

Total of margins is 170, average margin 42.5

Something to consider, will suspect some changes next week.

Even if we won I wouldnt have been happy. You have 3 tall forwards how hard is it to know one of you stays home why is everyone up the ground. Dow has had enough chances there is clangers but when they happen every time thats a serious, serious issue. Needs to spend some time in the 2s. Last year we forgave it because he was young and it was his first year. It cost us a game today. I know you cant pin it on one player, but I will. Either cant kick or hasnt learnt to settle and doesnt feel like he belongs. Missed a shot at goal, several field kicks, over McGoverns head underrl no pressure, terrible decision in the last minute. Go back to the 2s, dominate, then come back.

Sorry but I am going to call out your piss poor post. Regardless of outcome, these guys work and train their arses off. To suggest they don't care and just want a pay packet smells of envy. You might have 2 or 3 on a list of 40 that plays like that, but to make that observation of our whole playing group is very poor form.

O'Brien will make it folks, maybe needs a spell in the VFL, but he does have a good footy brain and a good user of the pill, his confidence may be down right now, but some of you writing a promising young lad still finding his way in the game off, I wouldn't come to you for help if I was in dire straits.

Also cut Bolton some slack, we lost the game to a vastly improved Suns team on their patch, from a fluke goal in the last 15 seconds. It's all done to bad luck, not bad coaching. A fine line between pleasure and pain

Shattering result but we’ll get there. We had periods where we looked good.

I refuse to blame Paddy Dow - he’s one of the few players who actually looks like breaking the game open. That decision was crazy but he’s a second year player. We knew he had areas to work on. Happy for him to keep backing himself and taking the game on.

Ed Curnow on the other hand - and as much as I respect his running ability - has no excuse for such deplorable kicking.

We desperately need an extra 25-50 games of this playing group gelling together. Some of our tactical issues are simply a lack of experience & cohesion.

Picked the wrong 22 from the available players, and lo and behold we got run off our feet.

This obsession with 4 talls at both ends has to go, because it puts too much pressure on the rest of the team unless enough talls are super athletic, which they just are not in the front half despite 3 being good athletes.

Casboult cannot play in the same side as McKay, Charlie and McGovern, and Newman cannot play in the same side as Plowman, Marchbank, Weitering and Jones. I don't know how anyone would need to see that again to understand it.

Too many people are dead on their feet at critical moments because of this. Jack, Kennedy and Stocker instead of Casboult, Gibbons and Newman would have completely transformed the look of the side, and instead the match committee shat their dacks instead of trusting solid young players to play a role.

We would have smashed them at the coal face and scorched them on the outside, and instead we chose to turn McKay, Fisher and O'Brien into punching bags. Absolute disgrace.
