no thanks. Doesn't pass the "no dickh**d" policy

Every club has there so called perceived dickh**ds but until they play for your club you don’t usually realise that they are not dickh**ds at all. Either though I loved the way he played I always thought Wingard was a bit of a DH and Lake before that.

FWIW I’ve always thought Kane Kornes is a dickh**d and still do 😂

- stay loyal to the club that drafts him
I reckon that would be the least likely reason for him to stay. He was rated as one of, if not the best players in his draft. Any club would've taken him if he were available at their pick. It just so happened that GWS had 11 of the first 14 picks.

Loyalty to the club that drafted you only really makes sense (at least to me) when the player in question wasn't guaranteed to be drafted and was extended an opportunity by the club. Luke Hodge was always going to be drafted, it was just a matter of how early. Where as Sam Mitchell was constantly overlooked before being given his shot by Hawthorn.

Are we talking about Zak or Darcy here? Zak would be a nice addition 👍🏽👍🏽

Sydney Zak Jones.
Hard, quick, aggressive, bit of .... !!!
Perfect foil for Dimma.
Provides small flexibility, back, fwd, perhaps even mid where he has been Sydney’s best player this early in the season.
Long way to go.
More to come.

So he resigned a 2 year contract extension in 2017 but is not on the list of AFL free agents. Am I missing something here?

Mate, I would say the same thing to anyone who said he is "absolutely" coming to Hawthorn, or 'clearly' he is leaving.

Saying things are absolute and clear is not an 'opinion'. It is a statement of fact. And NO-ONE, me, you, or the next poster is in any position to state absolute facts. And, no, stating, "In my opinion, GWS are well under the salary cap" doesn't make it an opinion, it is still an assertion of absolute truth.

I wish people knew the difference between stating opinions (e.g "Whitfield would suit us more than Coniglio") which are statements of personal value systems, and assertions of fact (e.g. "Coniglio will be at Hawthorn next year")

So, no, you 'don't get it". Stick your brown and gold rainbow up your ass.
Coniglio will (barring injury) take the field with Hawthorn next year. FACT. (I just wonder which side he'll be on.)

Sorry, you decide to roll with this about my post as opposed to every other post that suits our narrative? Right, I get it. Someone posts something that doesn't suit our brown and gold rainbow, we should look for periphery ways to discredit them and shift the focus away from the topic being discussed.

No I don't know for sure. However, like many, most, on here I am interpreting and posting my opinion. For me, it is pretty clear they shed salary, didn't overpay Setterfield and went heavy in the draft to keep money for their two biggest Free Agents.

They also have Shaw and Deledio out of contract at the end of the season, shedding their salaries, and only Hopper (signed) and Tomlinson (might get squeezed) of note also out of contract. The salary cap also increases by 2% in 2020, roughly an additional 250k.

My reading of the situation is GWS are quietly confident. If Coniglio leaves I don't think it will be because of money.

Now, my apologies, I will preface 'in my opinion with each post'. I expect you to chime in each time someone makes the same error as me. Cheers.

Well it was common knowledge that the Giants were in salary cap trouble for 2019, their total signed contracts for 2019 exceeded the salary cap

So yes they shed some players - they had to

So at this point maybe you are right and they shed so much cash with Scully, Shiel Lobbe etc that they are now good to offer contract everyone for 2020.

And also maybe you are wrong, maybe they've just got back to par and we are going to see the same model we've seen the last few years - keep as many as they can and trade someone back for picks as they have to pay their players well to keep them and they can't afford to keep them all

Maybe hasn’t been there 8 (?) years?

Reading some comments about Franklin being rubbish now... give it a spell the dude is still a freak.
IF there was a chance of bringing him back without losing much in the way of picks, I think we’d be crazy not to.

I visit once a month and read the latest 2 or 3 pages.

Pretty sure I dont miss a thing.
Like daytime soap operas. When I was a kid you'd be sick home from school once a term or so, and the exact same thing happening.

I know StKilda have been linked to Jones but I had not heard of our interest.

I'd prefer to go on another rescue mission like the Scrimshaw scenario. There was an article last year indicating Blues interest in Scrimshaw and Will Brodie.

Will is was a top 10 pick 189cm inside mid, averaged 27 possessions last year in NEAFL. Has been racking up 30 possession games this year but Suns are playing Anthony Miles instead of Will.

Its bigger than that though.

You're there from the age of 18. You make life long friends over the 8 years at that club. That club gave you your debut, first ever game, lifelong memories. That's the appeal.

I don't know how heavily weighted it is for him, but those are the factors in his mind

I absolutely love this!

You blanked out the word head, but left dick for the world to see. Brilliant.

:)

Brodie. Another we have substantial interest in. There are more plays to be had than Cogs and should Cogs stay we have to build a List and there are many, many positions to achieve.

Someone mentioned to me that we're hugely into Will Brodie who is rumoured to be suffering homesickness worse than what Scrimshaw was. Apparently he's had a fair bit going on family wise and has already requested a move back to VIC. Even though he's being playing awesome in the Magoos it might explain why Dew is not giving him any 1st grade action. If he's not part of what their doing moving forward then that's totally understandable. Even if he racks up 50 disposals then don't be surprised if he still doesn't get a game but good good luck explains that to their fan base though.
