Seems the pull of home is only part of the story for one football personality's recent move interstate.

The former star has headed back to where his very successful career started, but there may have been a little extra reason to get away after some extra-curricular activities came to light.

Apparently the long evening dog walk wasn't covering quite as much distance as one would have thought, with the pooch spending most of the hour or so tied up outside the home of another former player's ex-wife while our man went inside to get a bone.

nah their board is still choccas full of fans that think they are on the right path with bolton and sos. just a few holes in the list they say, bolton is the man, sos is a demi god, it’s all about to click, best young list in the comp, one or two more years of rebuilding required...

i still see a side with no discernible playing style other than “shit”, they’re not even rock bottom yet imo

The media were pretty much saying that after 2016. Rebuild unsuccessful, bad list, worst drafting decisions etc etc.

Carlton president is using an antiquated system called SOS based on 20th century modeling.

Prediction.
Notre Dame 5 years for the first mass, 6-8 years full completion.
Carlton 5-7 years for a final. 8-10 years for a (losing) preliminary final. Grand final, not in my lifetime.

No talk of player development, skills development, team culture...assistant coaches and team strategy...just a few more picks! And green shoot time!

You have be on the same page up the top, penny, benny and balmy had a vision and goals and stopped at nothing to achieve them , they backed
Hardwick when he was under seige and didnt waver, recruiting is a small part of how a club becomes successful, like you mentioned above
You have to get alot more than recruiting right.

No your right...it's having good management and people at the top to help foster and build a club culture geared to success...
Everybody needs to be on the same page to have any chance of playing Finals!
Cartoon just looks a rich boy's play thing...too many cooks at work there with different receipes on the boil...seems to be a massive dis-connect between the behind the scenes power brokers and the Admin/Footy department...makes you wonder just who and what is in charge...
No one from the Club Admin is coming out and talking solidarity with the coach...just the sound of crickets...
