I think I’m with Soapy in that I wouldn’t change the team given we won and we looked balanced.

The problem is that if Cas has a complete shocker or Polson goes unsighted then there will be some yelling and screaming from the cheap seats. But you do have to reward the guys who put left their blood, sweat and tears on the park.

I do though think that Charlie, Cuners and Will makes us a three to five goal better team when in form.

The whole idea of not changing a winning team is a good one.

In the sense that Levi earned his spot by playing a great game. Charlie comes back through the VFL if we are taking only 3 KFs in because we reward the good performer in a winning team.

But honestly Polson has been in enough LOSING sides that a 4 disposal (none kicks!) 2 tackle game really isn't enough, even in a winning side. Just isn't enough. One eyed fans will back every player to the death and that's fine, and some are talking about roles and yeah he probably did play a role, but he is a complete liability otherwise. We aren't talking a Kreuzer/Jones structural role either. Just a small defensive forward, don't ever be a threat when we`re on the attack role. If we can't manage to find someone doing that but while also getting 10 touches, wtf are we doing at the draft?

We won`t keep being a winning side if we reward poor individual performance merely for being in a winning side. Then a week later when the few passengers aren't carried by godly star performances like today we will be a losing side and it'll be like OH how did that happen??!

I don’t understand these calls for Kennedy. There is literally no role for him. None. Team structure is very clear. Very clear.

Mid 7: Crippa SPS Dow the main centre square guys. Sometimes Walsh. Fish. Wings are Murph Walsh LoB rotating with Walsh sometimes middle. The odd forward (see below) fills in.

Forwards who get a go in middle occasionally: maybe Gibbo. Maybe Ed. But only for a rest. Kennedy isn’t playing any of these forward roles.

The only present weakness in output is LOb. Outside wing. Defensive wing. Kennedy is NOT playing that role. Willo maybe.

Kennedy zERO chance this week. Trust me.

One of the commentators said that LOB and Murphy were doing a job on Hunter.

Hunter didn't get much of the ball and wasn't damaging with it when he had it.

LOB could have been instructed to play a defensive role today. Who knows. Point being, if this is the case, I'd be happy to keep him in.
Yes Eiffel Hunter hardly touched...LOB did ok

Cunners for Polson at this stage. Charlie over LOB, but might ruin balance so a dilemma there. Willow one more week.

If Cuningham is fit he plays seniors at the expense of Poulson, he is an upgrade.Willo plays VFL for another 2 weeks.

Just think collective running power is very important these days. Even though LOB super nervy and not hard enough at it a couple of times today he really helps that end to end run. Just keep playing him. Against a great running side today we were great.

Walsh Murph SPS Gibbo LOB Ed terrific power runners mid forward. They are combining well as a running group.

Bloody hell dropping Cas would be harsh after 3 goals!

Charlie for LOB?

we've known for the last decade that if cas can convert his marks into goals then he becomes a pretty dangerous forward. but he's just never been able to. if he consistency kicks like he did today then he stays in the team. i don't think he will sustain that but at the very least it means we don't have to rush charlie back.

i feel like charlie perhaps got a bit ahead of himself hearing about how he's the new superstar forward of the competition so maybe a few weeks in the 2s to keep his ego in check won't be the worst thing.

4 touches and 2 tackles soap. Lets be serious here mate

Also first game in after missing last week as travelling emergency. I'm not saying he played well but to drop him after his first game back in and such a good win would be very harsh. Not exactly players thumping the door down to replace him in that role either at the moment.

Everyone played their role. Many want O'Brien dropped yet played a defensive role on an accumulator and he still went at 100% efficiency. While Polson needs to find more of the ball, he too is playing his role, with his pressure acts

Only had 13 pressure acts and only had 61% TOG. It's not good enough if his job is to harass and pressure in the forward line. Cuningham will provide those 13 pressure acts, not have to sit on the bench as much and impact offensively.

As it stands Cuningham is a much better player. No doubt. What we are saying is Cuningham has had a month out and may not even be ready. Given we won and Polson played his role it would be a good thing to keep him in. Especially as he just came back in.

We aren’t exactly talking about established stars

In fairness to the counterargument, it's not just the one game.

He had 4 disposals, 1 tackle and 0 goals 0 behinds against the Swans.

He was also quiet in the JLT series and the practice match against Hawthorn.

His game against Port was acceptable, but not great. It was just better than what people expected.

When you take all this into account, he's had five quiet games, missed one and performed ok in one.

Almost feels like it's counterproductive to his development not allowing him to learn his craft in the VFL.

Cuningham is clearly wanted and needed in our side. Depends on whether he's fit enough, and whether he needs to regain some touch in the VFL.

I'd like to see Polson and LOB in the VFL, not because I don't rate them but because I think they need a chance to go back and work on a few things. Gain a bit of confidence.

Polson has been averaging 16 a game, (ranked number 1 for all our forwards before today), not bad for a forward, considering some mids such as Murphy, SPS have been averaging less.

Some big games coming up where fit Kennedy Cunningham and Williamson will be wanted. Season is just starting for Carlton. Happy to see them fully ripped and ready before they are played. Chariie will be handy too.

Pressure acts can be a bit misleading at times. Not sure how they calculate them.

I prefer to use tackles, spoils and smothers as my key indicators for pressure.
