Its fantastic to have confidence that when somone gets picked they are ready to play. Look at Kreuz and Marchie.
Yeah spot on BB, there's a confidence in Russell's program that the players have been given the right rehabilitation and training blocks so they are in the best condition possible...

Garlett & Lang (& moved away from defence) minimal output in the VFL off reports.
Willo could be the closest to selection with Kennedy, if not hurt in the end but a little underwhelming off Hark’s view.
Cuningham would be the one if he’s available.
3 handy players with varying elite abilities pending a game; CC, DC, Willo.

Also I'm a big fan of Josh Fraser as our VFL side coach, has done an amazing job with what he has had to work with in his time with us, personally I think he's a wonderful coach and developer of players wait til he has a full list at his disposal, he will do wonders for our young upcoming players...

Players that didn't play in our win yesterday that would likely be considered for selection over the next month:
  • Charlie
  • Lang
  • Garlett
  • Williamson
  • Macreadie
  • Stocker
  • Kennedy
  • Setterfield
  • Fasolo (never say never, but I doubt he can make it back in now)
It feels like we're finally reaching a position where we have selection pressure. I don't remember the last time we had that many potential quality inclusions. Is only a positive for the VFL side.

3rd time travelling in 6 rounds, we've copped the rough end of it so far.

3 left foot weapons in Newman, Simpson (felt his kicking game was back yesterday), and potentially Williamson coming out of the backline is looking very tasty 😋.

LOB too but not sure there is room for him.

Cunningham

I still think there is room for Fas if he’s good enough.

Round 3: Polson v Swans - 4 touches, 1 tackle
Round 4: Polson dropped
Round 5: Polson v Dogs: 4 touches, 2 tackles

A win is not a justification to keep him in. His performance did not contribute to the win and it sends the wrong message to the players performing in the twos that poor performers can be carried.

He’s young and has the whole year to work on his game in the twos. But for now, he has not done anything to justify retaining his spot. I’d bank on Kennedy, playing in the unfamiliar role of forward picket, offering more.

Alex Fasolo was poor in his last game and deserved to be dropped, yet he did a helluva lot more (including kicking a goal).

Knew I would miss someone, other than Charlie he's picked first from the list.

Problem with Fas I think is he applies no pressure and it's clear that the coaches value the pressure higher than someone who will kick a goal and do nothing else. I mean they're playing Polson over him when he's only getting the ball a hand full of times a game.

Compare that to the filths first 6 rounds, MCG-MCG-MCG-MCG-Gabba-MCG and then continue on to Marvel-MCG-MCG-SCG. What a jooooooooke. 2 interstate trips in 10rounds, I know we'll end up playing a decent amount at mcg/marvel come season end but still, 18th travels interstate 3/6 from first 6 rounds compared to 2/10 to the runners up.

Every chance he won't play, but there was nothing on Saturday that would have indicated he should not be up for contention.
Williamson ran the game out, took the game on, didn't shirk a contest and is actually something we could do with.
i.e. He didn't look like someone who had been out of the game for a protracted period of time.

I really want to see the guy back, he is a talent.

But when a bloke cramps up on limited minutes at VFL intensity, he ain't ready.

No matter how much we wish otherwise, he just ain't.

You would have Cuningham, Curnow, Kennedy & Williamson in your best 22 and Setterfield the week after but the only one who might get dropped this week is Polson.

Going to be a lot of pressure on to perform, 5 best 22 ready to go against north anyone slips up this week they are out.

Can't demote Levi after his above average game and 3 goals. Dilemma with MC in what to do with Charlie next week if fit. Don't wan't to go in too top heavy. Can he come in as a utility, winger half forward type, maybe relieve Crippa. He is very athletic, and hopefully could develop into another "Kouta" type role. Polson has to go IMO.

It's a brutal business Soapy, no room for complacency after a win. Get your best team out there to win games of football.

This means Williamson and Cuningham replace LOB and Polson shortly.
As much as we all love Willo, just can’t see him coming back after one VFL game in over a season, week later to traumatise Norf the go. LOB the likely out for Willo’s return.

Given how brilliant the 2018 top 20 picks have been this year, Stocker to come in and just do the Polson role, could not be any worse, and his NB’s game the other day puts him right in contention. Stocker apparently pretty good forward in TAC when pinch hitting there. Charlie to come back via 2’s if he gets up.

If Cunners ready, then it’s Polson for Cunners, but have my doubts he will be.

In - Stocker/Cunners
Out - Polson

Why do you say 'rush' though?

Maybe that's just the way we're doing things now.
Actually, we know we are with Russell on board and neither he nor Macreadie, looked over-awed for their first games back and were even mentioned in the bests for the NB's.
He cramped in the third quarter though? Still think he needs another week but understand where you’re coming from.

LOB just needs another pre -season to bulk up, he’ll be fine

LOB kept his opponent to Zero possessions on the time he was on him up until 3/4 time. The coach highlighted this later when praising his game. Also went at 100% DE

Interesting how people view games? [emoji848]

So when I said L'Ob played a run with role and defensively was good, and you called me wrong with no explanation, you lied. Cool.

0 possessions is brilliant, how much time did he spend on that opponent to 3qtr time as I don't believe anyone had 0 possessions at that stage. Assume it was when he went head 2 head with Hunter?
