10/10 - given the outcome was basically telegraphed by virtue of studio planning, the fact they managed to make such a joyful, emotional thrill-ride is absolutely outstanding. Could not have asked for a more perfect conclusion to this story. Genuine tears at more than a few points in the back half.

- The Avengers Assemble scene might be my favourite set piece in the whole MCU. Spine tingling.
- Cap wielding the hammer!
- Karen Gillan a quiet achiever IMO - very similar to Zoe Saldana in IW, but it can't be easy doing it under even more makeup and prosthetics.
- Loved almost all of the callbacks, but the Elevator Scene probably my favourite. (Heil Hydra!)
- Jarvis! Hope James D'Arcy gets a nice paycheque, as I'm still dirty about Agent Carter being cancelled.
- Similarly geeked out at Pierce, The Ancient One, Crossbones and the Hydra goons - great work to those who picked the kid from Iron Man 3 at Tony's funeral, that was going to be my one unanswered question.
- Loved how everyone got their licks in to eventually take down Thanos; particularly the gauntlet chase through the final battle. People calling Captain Marvel a Deus Ex Machina clearly don't understand the term.

Tony goes out a hero, Cap goes out happy - don't think you could have asked for a better ending.

Fully get why they didn't include a stinger - what's left to tease where this story is concerned? - but the (billion?) dollar question is where to from here?

- We know Fury is going to represent some sort of connective tissue still (Far From Home Trailer)
- Is there an alternate Loki out there somewhere with the tesseract? Or do Cap's actions fix that?
- Like Sam as the new Captain America.
- Black Widow standalone is obviously going to be a prequel.

You wonder whether they start building to something new over the course of Phase Four - but I genuinely don't know how they're going to match that, let alone top it.

I can see how Marvel could introduce F4 but for the life of me I can see how the xmen/mutants will be introduced in the next few phase

Strong rumours of the Enternals stand alone film which will go a long way to explain how the x-gene [ mutant gene] is in the population

For mine Doom/ Gallatica will be the next main villain over a few phases

I doubt they will get close to topping the originals , Endgame was a perfect culmination of 11 years of brilliant planning and risks by Marvel

Full credit to them I can remember them announcing Iron man and nearly being laughed at for starting their own studio for full control.

What a ****ing ride

for the love of baby Antman no ******* black hole Galactus this time please

the Galactus tease in the F4 film was comically bad, almost an insult to a character as great as this. Embarrassing.

He will never be treated with that kind of disdain under Feige’s watch. I think if they go there over the next phase, it will be ****ing glorious.

We’ve already had two cosmic type events, with Thanos’ snaps. Could be the perfect way to bring him in, with Galactus being awoken by Thanos. It would be next level shit.

Yes quite likely wishful thinking on my part, but as epic as Doom is, there’s just no comparison for me. Galactus would be insane.

Feel the same way it would be ****ing epic to see it done right on screen

Just got out the cinema, wow.

Best Picture Oscar is deserved.

They did it, they ****ing did it. Finished it with a masterpiece. Kudos to Kevin Feige, if he never does anything else he’ll still be remembered a hero

Highlights

Cap with Mojlnir - the whole cinema gasped (also, “you have the small one”)
There’s just so many good bits, Practically everyone gets a moment
Hulk is hilarious
Thor getting called Lebowski
AntMan calling Back To The Future bullshit
Thor cutting off Thanos’s head in the first ten minutes... I was like, okay where is this going?
The reincarnated Strange opening all the portals in the final fight, once I realised what was happening I was like o **** yes
All the women lining up, something for the whiny fanboys
Thanos clicking his fingers saying I am inevitable... and nothing happening (another cinema-wide gasp)
Stark doing the same saying I am Iron Man
Cap getting old, getting married, kissing Peggy

I bawled like a baby

Me too

On a scale of 1-10 how bad would DC be crying?

They are on suicide watch

The time travel seemed a bit messy to me, I didn't quite know which time they returned to. If it was 5 years in the future, then why are Parker's classmates still in school? If it was just after the Thanos snap, then I suppose nobody even missed the Vanished, but there seemed to be scenes of Vanished characters being reunited. I'll have to watch it again to get the picture.
Re: Spidey's classmates - I assume they were victims of the snap too. So when they came back they are still the same age as Peter.

Cap wielding the hammer was awesome as stated as was Thor's reaction. The only bit that shit me was Cap being able to control the lightning. I'm ok with him giving it a swing and knocking a ball out of the park but I thought it was made out to Thor by Odin that he (Thor) is the lighting. The hammer was only really a channel to help him focus it but in the end the power of lightning resided with Thor himself and not the hammer.

Yeah spectacular. I'm ready to go again.

I've got 3 more viewings lined up, potentially 4 more (if I can be bothered going again haha).

I'm a bit Marvel fatigued, I think the marathon (even though it wasn't a complete marathon... I skipped the Marvel films I don't really like :P) I had in the weeks leading up to the release with the aim of getting me pumped up, had a different effect. I think I'll just watch Infinity War before the dvd/blu-ray release of Endgame :P

She was fine I thought. Only weird part was when she got all-female back-up. It was supposed to be a girl power moment but it made no sense because most of them didn't have any powers from what I could see.

Absolutely the low point of the movie for me. That scene was so contrived with its agenda. Almost ruined the final act.

I do have some issues too.

Interesting choice deviating away from Bucky as the next Captain America. Didn’t really rate that.

Also, and this happens in many superhero movies, the sudden overpowering/de powering of characters. Overall, it’s been done to Scarlett Witch throughout.

But here, and yes I get Thor is well out of shape and nowhere near his peak, but with Mjolnir and Stormbreaker he should’ve wiped Thanos.

Hell even Tony put up a better battle against Thanos when he had 5 of the 6 stones. But here a stoneless Thanos took them apart in that 3 on 1 battle.

And then Danvers. She should’ve dismantled Thanos.

Minor I know, I’m aware this is but a minor blip overall.

Overall, still spectacular for me. However nothing is perfect, and flaws are still evident. It’s just to what degree I guess, and these blips for me where tolerable in the grand scheme of things.

Valid points, although I'm glad Captain Marvel didn't shine too much in the final battle. I also felt that Captain America with Mjolnir did some serious damage to Thanos (at least out of the three main combatants.
No doubt one of my favourite moments is when Scarlett Witch starts dismantling Thanos in the third act and he panickingly instructs the air support to fire on everyone. I know that Captain Marvel is supposed to be the most powerful Avenger but, when properly motivated, my money would be on Scarlett Witch in a fight.

I liked (and anticipated) that there would be no end credit scene. It's finally over, no hints at a comeback, no opportunity for a sequel. Nice touch.

I thought it was good. Objectively as a movie I'd rank it the third best of the Avengers movies. But because it brings 10 years of movies to a single point for a stunning climax, it really could rank anywhere for fans.

The end battle felt like every action franchise was brought together at once. I was half expecting the Terminator or John Wick to show up. It was only the armies associated with all the MCU movies, of course, but it felt like cinema itself was fighting Thanos and we were going to see Rambo stroll in to have a go. That's probably due to the enormity of the fight, and the apocalyptic imagery. Anything felt possible.

I'm also not totally aware of who all the fighting characters were. The flying horse for example, I missed which movie that was from.

Captain Marvel didn't ruin the movie, in fact her overconfidence was rebuked by the characters in the movie, who made it clear that it was their fight too. And in the end they held centre stage and made all the sacrifices. I actually liked Captain Marvel as a paragon character, she was a neutral good, angelic character, again fitting in with the apocalyptic imagery along with the flying horse and other stuff.

Iron Man's death felt unexpected, but appropriate. The MCU is really all the other characters riding Robert Downey Jr's coattails. That's why they pay him the big bucks. He did a great job, and as an actor he has fulfilled his considerable talent with these big roles.

I liked the Back to the Future II kind of time travel, where they re-visit earlier events in the franchise, it seemed fitting for a finale to go back to the beginnings.

Captain America's ending was also very appropriate. Time travel movies are often about romance, loneliness, grief, and Cap, Iron Man and Thor all had to revisit theirs. Thor's mother basically sacrificed herself, it was implied she knew about her impending death, but they could have made more of that I thought.

Some of the dialogue didn't make sense. Thor's mother told him you just have to be who you are, not who you're meant to be. Then she told him to go and be what he was meant to be. I suppose he was meant to be who he is, and he wasn't being himself at the time?

I remember the post credit scene after Incredible Hulk which started it all, and thinking about the potential of a cross over movie series. They realised that potential and THEN some. This movie will break all kinds of box office records.
All good points and sums up a lot of my views

Endgame is an appropriate name. Some ehh moments but mostly covered over. 8/10. I'm sure someone brought onions into my row. I think the important thing to say is it never felt like 3 hours.

It will make a lotza motza money. $3B coming easy

Some wtf moments both good and bad wtf

-Thanos early. Wut movie over already? Wut?
- I expected Quill to be seen singing Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves when the ladies gathered around PP. Because we all know ladies love the PP ;)
- Avengers Assemble - goosebumps and tears
- I expected a time travel switcheroo from Thanos but he let it play out. Destiny?

Totally epic, genuine tears at certain points.

Still think Bucky should have gotten the shield at the end.

Feel like they went with Sam because he doesn't have the skeletons in the closet that Bucky does, even though Bucky isn't to blame. I agree though I would have much preferred Bucky as a suitable Cap. How does Sam even do it? I mean yeah he has the shield but doesn't have the super strength and athletic abilities that Cap and Buck had. He's actually more potent as Falcon flying the suit.

Yeah surely the baggage is why it wasn't Buck, but Sam isn't a super soldier so he won't be able to do what Cap could, hence should have been Bucky.

So confirmed dead list after both movies:
Ironman
Black Widow
Vision
Heimdall
Loki?????

Yes, I’m a bit of a purist at times for the source material. SW has been significantly de-powered in this depiction.

I know these are minor issues, and overall don’t have many problems with it. But it was a bit more glaring for me here. Thor took Thanos to town when he had all 6 stones right at the end of IW.

Acknowledging he wasn’t at his peak here, but also Thanos had no stones. Thor still should’ve wiped him, especially with Stormbreaker. Tony went toe to toe vs Thanos with 5 stones. Still gets swept aside here.

Cap put up the best fight, the Mjolnir moment was magnificent. Loved it.

Black Widow is also one who has been way too over powered at times, especially when fighting Proxima in Wakanda in IW.

Anyway, swings and roundabouts I know and these things happen (but even as an avid comic book reader since I was 5, I still read them sometimes and say “no way he could do that!” :D

Amazing overall, so much to take in that final battle. Loved when Danvers bitched Thanos’ ship, spectacular.

“I went for the head”. Loved that line from Thor :D
