Absolutely unthreatening footballer. Scared to kick the footy(even more than Cripps), fumbles all the time and handballs to players feet all the time. Let him get 50 touches, won't hurt you unless other melbourne players are up and about.

Melbourne are 100% reliant on Gawn. Hogan is a very good player- can see Freo taking their spot in the 8 now.

Should have been clearer. I Completely disagree that most criticism isn't directed to the umpires.

The AFL have made the game so complicated with so many unnecessary rules that it is impossible now for umpires.

The contact below the knees rule is the classic example. Should only have used for dangerous slides, but is used whenever the umpire sees fit.

The rushed behind and deliberate out of bounds similarly.

We only need 4 rules- in the back, dangerous tackle ( too high), illegal disposal and illegal shepherd/ block. Need to keep the game simple at all levels.

The Tigers are very a well drilled team but what stands out to me is their great work rate. They run hard both ways to cover for team mates when necessary and they run hard into space to give the ball carrier multiple options. If only we could get similar 4 quarter efforts from our players.

About time Anzac day was shared again
Remember watching a game versus Richmond in front of 53000 as a kid.We kicked 9 or 10 goals to nothing in the first.
Then Richmond kicked 8 goals to nothing in the second.We ended up winning by 3 points.
And the point is AFL
It stays in my memory it was Anzac day.
Not Collingwood Essendon day.
I now boycott these games on that principle.

Doesn’t have to be day’s only game though. These clubs now own a huge day on which footy was always played by various teams, courtesy the AFL.
