Stop being all nanny state, next you will be telling me Acres is just laconic or something.

Anyway back on track. Gibbs is a blow to Adelaide always seemed to go well against us.

We just need to bring the pain like we have all year to be a big chance tomorrow.

I would not get personal with CU, we have a difference of opinion.

I hope he is wrong this week, and knowing the great Saints person he is I am sure he hopes DMAC all the success in the world.
I actually wasn't offended Joff I was just explaining as you seemed to be incapable of understanding how other people could see the way you repeatedly conduct yourself as bullying. :)

Nice no true scotsman fallacy, but regardless I hope McKenzie does well; I just don't think he will. He's a liability one-on-one, shown up by a 1 legged David Swallow twice in 2 minutes, gives away pointless frees, gets in the way of teammates and misses easy passes. As opposed to someone like Brandon White who doesn't do any of those things.

Richo is forever in debt to McKenzie for his last quarter against Gold Coast last year. DMac just about saved Richo’s job.

In all seriousness, the brand we’ve built this year is on the back of strong defence. DMac is far from perfect & has his flaws but defensively he is very good. A few errors earlier in the season but his JLT & practise matches were interrupted by injury & I think he’ll continue to improve when he gets more touch.

So you think there's absolutely ZERO truth to it too?
Not to start the argument again, but if DMAC, Lonie and Sinclair were doing the cast, they might have said Newnes and Ross are the favourites.
Didnt matter how bad they played last year they didnt get dropped.

Newnes has played about 700 games in a row.

Its a pisstake podcast.

BTW all coaches have favourites. DMAC may well be one and thats fine unless you are inferring he is only getting a game because of this favouritism.

Was interesting hearing Ratten pleaded the case for Kent as the forward coach and Richo listened.

I would be surprised if he did that with Ratts he wouldn't do that with Playfair. Seems like he places trust in the line coaches.
If Playfair wanted someone else, I reckon they would have got the nod.

Maybe if Marsh was fit, or my selection Joyce (someone said he was too tall) was more experienced, DMAC wouldnt be there.

If Carlisle, Geary and Robbo were available chances are he would be at Sandy.

Sound like the coaches think he is best currently available. His challenge is to take his opportunity like Wilkie and Paton.

If not, he is out IMO.

Dont know about White never see him. Reports are he isn't fit enough.

If he or Joyce or Marsh are better than DMAC, put them in. I have no allegiance to any player only the team.

I hope he proves you wrong on the weekend. If not he goes and we try someone else.

I don't disagree that it could work but it could be meddling with the formula that has changed the way we play for the better. It's like changing your family recipe, changing the the beef for chicken might work magic or it could be gross. Billy Longer is like old chicken that's on the point of turning right now, we could give ourselves listeria if we get it wrong.[/

We could always throw in an extra stock cube and some chilli. It'll change the consistency a bit, but will mask the taste, and get us through until we get the next shop.

Gaslighting. Never suggested anything except stats show you are incorrect.

And what does last year have to do how he is performing this year.

You are the one making emotive statements that he cant hit the side of a barn.

As for Billings, as much as he has improved I can remember at least 4 direct turnovers from Billings last week kicking to a contest. That goes into his poor 70% ED do it is even worse.

Sure, dislike DMAC all you like, but in my view your rubbishing of him is unwarranted.

How do you call out gaslighting, that's literally working to convince someone they are crazy?

I had forgot about that. I think you're spot on. I bet richo didn't pick that one to happen

What, didn't pick that aye would actually perform as required?

Sorry but that's just a silly argument because you can also argue that whoever kicked our last goal saved Richo job...

Or the defender that spoilt a mark and so on etc etc. .

Oh yer so when he killed it the following week playing in the right position he just decided to not be lazy in his efforts? Such a terrible narrative.

No narrative at all. His efforts in his match against Freo were poor. Has nothing to do where he was played. You seem to think that the 2 are the same.
In fact if you look at the Hawks match he played a similar role. Played primarily as a high half forward flanker and fill in ruck. Last week more wing time as seen in the heat map. But he was lauded on here for the Hawks game where he played in a similar role to the one previously.
You know the only difference?
Effort.

No not that, that McKenzie would be the difference between him getting the ass and him surviving.

I think richo would want and expect all players to perform. I think McKenzie would have exceeded his own expectation. Let alone him being the catalyst and driver for us winning.

It was more about having any sort of band playing at the ANZAC day game.

It's already stretching it having a game of football on a solemn day of reflection.

Adding auxiliary, token 'entertainment' for ultimately commercially beneficial purposes pushes that envelope even further.

We let that slide, then what's next?
Every kid at the ground gets their own little slouch hat and cap gun?

Tshirt cannons?

I have no problem with a band playing on Anzac Day, my grandfather used to go get pissed with his mates to celebrate it.

He didn't play a similar role at all.... He was sitting deep against Freo then for the Hawks game moved to basically an offensive wing after the ball was bounced. His role against Hawthorn was closer to against Melbourne; hence why his performance in the two games was similar.
