I know, right! It would be over by half way through the second.Good midfield, embarrassing forward line an defense.
Lmao at many of the west coast inclusions too. Someone hit auto-fill for sure.lol I just noticed O'Meara made WA's team
Page 3 and you have only JUST actually looked at the team, this after your idea of a Vic forward line included a Queenslander & a NSWelshman.lol I just noticed O'Meara made WA's team

Automatic jimmy rustling at the mere mention of SOO noted.
LOL, you are so rattled. It's the supercoach generation having a HAPPY BUDDHA brain fart
Didn't realise TLDR would outrage you this much ROFL!!!
Ok I had another glance and noticed they named Liam Ryan and Rory Lobb!! Hahahaha did you even look at the list before hitting post new thread?
Brereton, Lloyd, Lockett, Ablett, Rocca, Loewe, Hall, Grant, Longmire, Salmon, Madden, Daicos, Lyon, Lynch all played around that era. Hell even Gehrig. Theres 14 options for 2-3 fwd positions. Weve got them covered that many times over its embarrassing lol. its simply no contest.Where do you think they learned how to play footy? It wasn't in the WAFL!! You keep posting like Dunstall didn't play for Victoria, or the way things were 30 years ago are how they are today
Even if both are omitted under 'full state of origin rules' instead of partial, there's still a plethora of options to replace them. Dermott Brereton and Matthew Lloyd could easily be added to a forward line with Lockett and Ablett
So with all these “guns” why the need to pick 2 blokes who are not even Victorian?Brereton, Lloyd, Lockett, Ablett, Rocca, Loewe, Hall, Grant, Longmire, Salmon, Madden, Daicos, Lyon, Lynch all played around that era. Hell even Gehrig. Theres 14 options for 2-3 fwd positions. Weve got them covered that many times over its embarrassing lol. its simply no contest.
Stack???OP should have at least include Baker, Pickett, Stack and McIntosh in their WA team. Many players named purely being good to ok players once and/or average today. Glad he's not the selector!
In other areas, Franklin is a shadow of his former self, Kennedy is finished, Darling is B grade and.....hang on.......whos that tucked away trying to hide on the bench - Lobb(??) as the back up ruck/fwd?
Are there any other options?
Would only kick 9 goals against the Vic defence tops! Theyd be ******* AXED!!!
BWAHHAAHAhaha so why not originally include them in your “plethora” of options for a Victorian SOO side instead of two blokes who are not even Victorian?Dermott Brereton and Matthew Lloyd could easily be added to a forward line with Lockett and Ablett
Men were tough men back in those days. Esp from Vic. Still are. Would run through soft pricks like Jakovich whilst he was busy preening himself.

Read the first three lines.Ironic that of all the names out there, you should choose to use Jakovich as your example of "soft pricks" being run through by one of the "tough men" from the photo you were referencing.
Gary Ablett tried his best run through Glen Jakovich in the 1992 GF (around the five minute mark of the third quarter) while the 18 year old eagle was sprinting to the fall of a Michael Mansfield kick out of defence. A split second before impact, Jakovich saw the would be sniper lining him up and was able to brace. This resulted in Gablett being sat on his arse while the young eagle, still on his feet, trotted off to resume tearing Barry Stoneham a new ring piece.
One of the commentators goes on to mention, a minute or so later, "Gary Ablett still feeling the pinch from that clash with Jakovich".
You should check it out. I think anyone who doesn't support Geelong would take some mirth out of the incident. I'd post a clip of it, if I had even a modicum of editing skills.
Not to be pedantic, but this bloke's a New Souf Welshie too.
Lol. Typical Prictorian. Claiming players who aren’t Pricks. Worked for many years until we bent you over and went in dry with the advent of SOO. Amazing what happens when the playing field is even. This is what an all star forward looks like x 4
I think it is more the fact he genuinely did not even know.Lol. Typical Prictorian. Claiming players who aren’t Pricks.
And you must be out of quality players if you are relying on Qlders, NSWelshies and old man GAJlett to field a side.Stop wasting our time WAmpaigners. You are out of your depth.
That not a singleQuite a damning quote here exposing the VFLs reliance on WA talent.
“A Western Australian team comprised entirely of home-based players had, on 25 June, taken on a Victorian team containing many of the same players who would return to Perth ... for the state of origin clash. The respective scores of the two matches offered a persuasive argument, if such were needed, of the extent to which the VFL had denuded the WAFL of its elite talent:
Western Australia's previous biggest winning margin against a Victorian state team had been a mere 38 points in 1948. Almost overnight, an inferiority complex was dismantled: Victoria, it seemed, was not intrinsically superior, only wealthier.
- On 25 June 1977 Victoria 23.16 (154) defeated Western Australia 13.13 (91) — a margin of 63 points
- On 8 October 1977 Western Australia 23.13 (151) defeated Victoria 8.9 (57) — a margin of 94 points, representing an overall turn around of 157 points
