Both came from expansion clubs, one was under-utilised because he had 12 KPPs in front of him at GWS and the other was at Gold Coast and they just didn’t play him because they’re smrtIs there a link in the footy department between Stewart and Wright? A coaching or development link?
We have had remarkable results turning these guys into bonfide KPPs having given up picks in the 70s and given the marking weaknesses present in their respective games.
Perhaps Dodoro is just genuinely savant level when it comes to identifying KPPs.
In any event, as positive as I have been about Wright, he's continuing to exceed expectations.
2 rucks is a must if only to give us a look at how many chances this guy can create playing 100% forward.
He doesn't have to get to Hooker level with his grip on the ball. He's just so damn tall, can move well enough and seems to have a decent leap. He's become a very difficult match up.

If we had a key forward whisperer when Stewart arrived it would’ve been Dan Jordan or Hayden Skipworth… Wright perhaps Cara or Dan Jordan.Sort of, but they had their flaws.
Stewart couldn't one grab a mark when he first came to us. Wright also spilled 50% of what he should have taken, what he is now taking.
I dont really recall many examples of players making this extent of change. That it's 2 at the same club makes me think there is a key forward whisperer on the coaching/development team but I can't think of who it is.
Did Rutten come to us at the end of 2018?
Rutten was end of 2018 yeah. Early 2018 (April?) we got Richardson and he brought Rutten in a couple of months later. Then Cara arrived 12 months after that, and then got rid of Worsfold 12 months after that again, which also coincided with Skipworth going to Collingwood the day before pre-season.Sort of, but they had their flaws.

Probably dumb luck.Is there a link in the footy department between Stewart and Wright? A coaching or development link?

Can not be allowed to play ruck again this year. Do not care if we have to sacrifice Baldwin as a second ruck if one of Draper or Bryan are not playing.
Was it Laycock who Sheedy made carry a football around everywhere, with some form of punishment if he was to be found without it?If we had a key forward whisperer when Stewart arrived it would’ve been Dan Jordan or Hayden Skipworth… Wright perhaps Cara or Dan Jordan.
I don’t think we taught them anything complicated, but we treated their development like it actually mattered to the team’s performance (and we don’t have other options) and therefore invested accordingly.
I do remember Lloyd commenting something similar about when he first came to Essendon he took a chest mark and Sheedy told him he never wanted to see him take a chest mark ever again and so he learned (he also learned to kick straight by practicing thousands of times and setting himself into a routine).
Not sure if Sheedy is a forward whisperer or if that’s just basic advice any under 12 should be given.
I guess the low percentage option is that both played forward alongside Cale Hooker.
Your logic maybe. Sure why not play a bloke forward he has exclusively played back for two years and also ask him to play ruck as well. The logical way to go is to play Stewart forward ( who can give a chop out in the ruck ) when he's recovered from injury.
Unbelievable. He is normally 8.19That is insane accuracy

Additions of Jones, Snelling, Stringer and Langford (chopping out in the forwardline) will help with this. The first game we move the ball well and he kicks six.
He has well and truly arrived, get him a forward partner (please be Jones), some proper small forwards to feast off his work and tidy up our ball movement and the forwardline is set.
Reports are Suns were paying half of his contract ($500K) for at least his first season with you(?).just a reminder:
"2020 Draft Period: Exchanged for a future fourth rounder" >> "GCS 4th round selection: PASS"
Wouldn't say Wright was surplus per se. Dew just rated Day more at the time as he was "more physical", despite the fact that in his (Day's) miserable career he had/ still hasn't kicked 20+ goals in a season. The Suns had May and then got King. They didnt want to be top heavy playing 2MP as well and wanted to fast track King's development so 2MP became surplus for them. They didn't play him enough in the year before he came to us to see how he was developing. And we needed a KPF given Joe going and Hooker almost at the end.
I don't think it's that much. Half the appeal of us is that we've been able to absorb most of itReports are Suns were paying half of his contract ($500K) for at least his first season with you(?).

A second tall-forward was still a strong need and a requirement hence going after Chol and Casaboult, and pulling Lukosius from defence into the forward line (move was going to be made irrespective of King going down).

King was also drafted as a defender not a forward, as a likely May replacement.
