Really liked what I saw from Arnold this year. Would be keen to see him get a crack next year.

Not interested in committing to be an AFL player, North board extremely critical of him even before he was delisted

Has done nothing at VFL level

Worth a punt in a better system you don’t lose talent.

McCartin, Melican, Rampe, Francis, Arnold, Edwards,,,, Fox, Blakey, Reid
Thin, yes, But with a bit of luck on either or both of the injury and development front, we could be ok.

I mean i wouldn't really classify those 2 as depth more completely untried.

Fantastic if they both made a impact! but then again we are in trouble if we are expecting both of them to feature in 2024.

Francis is about as far as i would go to label as genuine depth we could call upon.

yep, I did write 'with a little luck on the injury and development front'
Was thinking both Arnold and Edwards were in the developing category. I can imagine that Arnold may not be too far away?

Would be great if anyone can un-paywall this

Good to see you back, Rusty.

So the Bulldogs offer for #4 is even more than I thought....

The Dogs are offering picks 10, 17 and a future first-rounder — and would likely secure a third-rounder back from the Suns — which adds up to around 3500 draft points if the Dogs finished eighth next year.

Even if the Roos offered up their current pick 14 and two of those end-of-first-round picks their trade package would only come up to 3000 points.

And securing pick 10 from the Dogs — instead of the Roos pick 14 — would be much more advantageous.

I'm now pretty much expecting we draft him with our 1st, like Sheldrick, based on your excitement and ZZ is following the same progression of hype, moving into Top 30 contention.

Though imagine he'd be around at 22-25 for the Hawks 2nd. Depends if we suss anyone sniffing around like Cats were for Gus, so we pulled the trigger.

Wouldn't hate, based on that:

Grundy
Jordon

Archer Reid
ZZ
Cleary
May
Cabor

Covers most bases.

Would like an additional KPD that's ready to at least fill in due to injury. Whether it's a Highmore, Fleeton type or just hold a spot for the SSP/MSD in case we need a mature ager at short notice. Or just keep Gould for 1 more year to see if there's a forward there (at very least it could make him more valuable in a trade), and then you've got VFL KPD depth if the rest have to play seniors.
I have done a bit of work on outs and ins.
Here is how i see it. I hope I have not made too many mistakes.

Assuming we get Grundy.
Assuming we get Jordon.
Stephens out.
Cleary in.
Reid not sure yet.

To do that we need to have 44 on the list
Paddy gone. 43
Reid on LTI. 42
Arnold and Buller in 44.

Bud out. 43
RJ out 42
Stephens out 41.

Grundy in 42. Pick 30.
Jordon in 43. Free.
Cleary in 44. Pick 49.

Reid still not in or out.
We still have pick 11.
We still have pick 21.
We still have Pick 40.

Rankin Out.
Gould Out.

We still need one more out to do all of our picks. Or two if Reid is in.

The others still not signed are
Wicks. Guaranteed.
Sheather. He has never disappointed and has stood out ingames.
Clarke. Clamps. Just not this year. Valuable for VFL too.
HHK-Has done nothing wrong.
Owen-has not excelled
Magor-Has not excelled.

So one more out would mean a listed player being CAT A'd and a rookie delisted.
etc for Reid.

My take at this stage before the GF
