We better not trade Brandon Ryan for a 2nd rounder and then trade it for Chol. Suns can keep Chol on 500k a season in the ressies, they have no leverage here and should just accept our offer for a 3rd rounder (which is very fair imo)

Losing Ryan for pick 40 isn’t a win people. The guy has untapped talent, chol has been in the system 8 years now. He isn’t magically gonna get better. We love to think we can turn any player around, but a majority of the time it doesn’t work. What’s the harm in holding Ryan for another year then extend him if we want. Pick 40 does jack s**t for us.

I don't disagree re Ryan, pick 40 DOES help us if I am adding up the draft points properly. We are currently short if McCabe goes above 15.

Hard to fathom I would agree, there were some smooth moves he'd displayed to run and jump at the footy at least a couple of times that suggested there's more to come. 3 goals against the premiers was a fair effort too.

Maybe we figure we're going to need more points. Rama definitely going to benefit from this move, and you feel he's going to have the higher ceiling.

Surely us wanting to keep a future draft pick in every round means we are still keen and confident we can get a deal done for pick 1.

I think it's still a possibility. Anytime a trade scenario is raised for pick 1 it's either North or Melbourne. Hawks are hardly ever mentioned, it could be because the media can't stand us or we will get the pick and they want it to be a suprise.
I just find it funny that we aren't mentioned when our picks would be a lot better than Melbourne's.
