If we are smart and honest we will start playing the younger blokes over the next month or so

Lucas, Ben, Binns, Wilson, HOK, Lemmey should all get a taste to see if they what it takes. We aren't going to win the flag and playing VFL isn't helping them at all

Docherty & Fantasia should retire before MSD and I would try some things like Evans as a small defender or Cowan on a wing

We need to properly assess every option
We should certainly be giving them exposure, but playing all at the same time isn't setting them up for success.

Season isn’t over yet. Make the calls that need to be made but there is time for them to get it right.
Voss and the leaders need to lead and make the harsh calls though.

Wow. Some big calls there SB. I can't say i have noticed JW putting himself above the team.
As a leader, he didn’t lead. We all know Young plays the role that Weits hold best. He should have given in it for the team balance and played out of his skin to accommodate. That’s what leaders do. Sorry but that is how I was taught.

3 teams that slingshot with ball movement Saints, Sydney GWS. We are cooked.

I'm always perplexed that people don't seem to understand the high half forward role that Matt Cottrell plays for us and just how important it is for us to have him playing that role. Plugs space, runs till almost exhausted, pops up up forward and this year has added some beautiful lowering of eyes passes to his repertoire.

When he was injured last year we tried Orazio in the role. He tried his best and was prepared to sacrifice his natural attacking game for the benefit of the team but copped plenty of flack on here.

The only person that we currently have that can play that role us Ollie Hollands. It might ge foreign to him but he has the tank so it's worth a try. Bring in Boyd to half back move Ollie forward as clearly Lord cannot play the high half forward role (inside mid only).

Jsos back obviously if good to go. TDK either destroys his opponent or is completely nullified (by bigger bodies) who get coaches votes. Pitto needs to come in and wear them down a bit and (barring injuries) be prepared to be subbed for a runner mid third term.

Carroll has been impressive early but has come back to the field of late. I would manage him to freshen him up this week. Cowan back into the starting line up.

In Boyd, Silvagni. Pittonet
Out Young, Lord, Carroll

You gotta think coaches have a hand in who goes to who in a match up situation.

Doesn't seem like any of the young blokes are smashing down the door in the VFL (I mean we lost to Coburg) but I think Docherty should have played his last game and happy to give the likes of Binns a crack

Young has shown promise forward of centre.
I actually don't mind him playing as a forward. Pretty reliable mark and can kick straight.

Makes me wonder how much better some of our forwards would be if we were much more disciplined/strategic going into f50 and trying to hit up targets rather than blind dump kicks or long bombs that take an eternity to reach their targets.

There is evidence from late last season and from this season that shows our forwards can be much more effective with improved f50 entries - albeit against the lower ranking teams like weagles and roos.

It's frustrating that we are in a situation where every other week seems a make-or-break game, but it's a reality of the situation we are in and hopefully we live up to the pressure and just win, but I am not super confident.

We need a negating role on Wanganeen-Mileara .. Not sure who the right matchup is, perhaps Ollie.

Hey Soap. It’s Round 8 and we are 3 - 5 with what 15 games to go.
Not over unless the players feel like you do. I hope that isn’t true.
True, however to play finals, we'd have to win 10 of the 15 and have a healthy %? Not gonna happen this year in my opinion.

Got a bad feeling about this one…loose this and I think it’s safe to say season over, we picked the wrong coach, we picked the wrong list manager and tdk is signing the st kilda contract Saturday morning…

Will you be at Linton St Saturday morning to witness the signing!
