Tbh happy to have McGovern out after that incident in StKilda game - pretty violent for his body

Boyne just said he was the 4th worst kick this year.

Naicos the 10th worst...
Daniel Hoyne, good on him for making a living out of providing useless information based on stats. Give me the eye test any

day. The difference between the best and worst kicks is fairly minimal imo. George gets a lot of ball in congestion, so makes

sense that he has to throw it on the boot a fair bit (under pressure).

Boyd’s penetrating kick to a KPFs advantage off halfback could be handy at the SCG.

Boyd, Carroll and Docherty in for McGovern, Cowan and Acres please.

Evans as sub. But I feel he’ll get used as a negating forward against Blakey and get carved up.
Is it just me..... everytime I've had a look at VFL, Boyd's kicking has been very ordinary. Not to the standard it was previous years

They supposedly take kick difficulty into account. GH's DE is at 73% which seems pretty good for an inside mid. Would be interesting to see what his KE is. I don't remember him missing too many targets this year.

True ... only the difference between a Top team and 'ordinary' like Carlton ... is that in congestion and when being tackled, especially at centre bounces, a skilled team like Collingwood will always have Players running past to receive the ball when under pressure ... they don't do a Cripps and handball it up into the air to no one or bomb it like Walsh.

How many times do we see a Coll'd Player being swung a 360 to handball to their own Player running past ...?
They don't give up the ball easily like our Players do... I call it high footy IQ.

I've also noticed they don't tend to bomb the ball into their forward 50 ... and prefer to spot one of their own to pass it to for a shot at Goal. Hmm ... makes sense. Elliot says hi...

He doesn't miss many, and he's really disciplined with his choices...have never seen him try to pull.off an audacious kick.

Any list that pots his disposal isn't worth the time it took to.put together.

High footy IQ, or better coaching, or maybe both.

I believe future footy will have way more emphasis on conserving energy ... as a team like Carlton expends a lot more energy for less return than a team like Coll'd. They seem to get less possessions than Carlton but do a lot more with less, especially on the scoreboard. Carlton are much too wasteful which is why they run out of Gas in the 4th ... whereas Coll'd can make up a deficit and overrun their opposition. They somehow have the energy in reserve to go up a gear when it counts.

I think conserving energy will be more of a priority in not only Sport but across the board in the future.
We need to reduce waste and improve productivity. Keeping turnovers to a minimum should be a high priority

Collingwood average 354.1 possessions a game - Carlton 364
Collingwood averages 255.0 Uncontested Possession - Carlton average 256.4
Collingwood average 13.3 goals per game Carlton 11.9
Collingwood average 53.2 inside 50's Carlton 55.6

Ive noticed that as well

When he first came in felt like he could never miss

ever since that injury last year (cant remeber the round) just has not been the same

Maybe we need to ask Elon to provide 18 robots with 100% disposal efficiency. We would be unbeatable and assure us the

cup in 26. Agree though, pies are the benchmark at this point.

TDK? Heard he’s a bit sore
Last year he had 3 hit outs and 6 touches against the Swans (from memory Grundy just blocked and tackled him at every bounce) and the 2 games in 2023 he had a total of 28 touches and 16 hit outs - don't mind the idea of resting him and letting Pitto take on Grundy

Hearing a lot of outs, a big one too.

going to be tough.
Is it we are doing what Collingwood did at selection against freo.Giving a few who are sore a week off to be cherry ripe for GWS. If it does work, we get 4pts this week however we can then face Giants with them spot on, it could be a great call
prayer GIF
( and hopefully not a bridge too far)
