We could win 4 of our next 5. Amazing how an upset win can change the whole outlook of the season.
Port were dismal today and we will go in as favourites next week. After the bye we've got North, Essendon and Saints at Optus.
Exactly. Getting to 6-6 and work from there.

Why can’t we play like this every game?

Someone?

For all the shit we've collectively hung on Justin, he deserves his flowers here; I was horrified at what Taylor and Hogan were going to do to us after our terrible ball use and complete absence of defensive pressure last week, but we managed to fully rectify (goalkicking aside) the problems that had emerged.

  • Simpson for Draper is starting to look like an excellent call (albiet with a limited sample size) - we feel a lot more balanced down back and Cooper is working back into the top flight really well.
  • Just looking a little bit lower and weighting the kicks a little bit better works wonders - Murphy Reid take a bow.
  • Forward pressure massively up on the previous weeks. Keep up the hunter killer mentality please.
  • While I still think he's first out for a fit O'Driscoll, Erasmus looked a lot better - just really needs to be drilled into him that he's there to look pretty, get the ball and dish it off as quickly as he can. As soon as he stops and thinks about what he's doing, we're instantly flirting with disaster.

And I feel genuinely sorry for Montagna having to share the comm box with those two jibbering idiots. Dermie (of all people!) trying to manifest Voss being pinged by the MRO can get right in the bin.

I cant be the only one who gets freaked out by how much winning or losing impacts my mood each weekend.
Your first thought is usually the correct one.

Sack!

Coops down back does look really good. Also makes us a lot more balanced.

Wags does a lot of little things and I really love what he brings to the team now.

Felt like there were a lot more players getting down to help pressure in our forward 50 but it also allowed GWS to get some really quick transition down the other end. Still, I'd rather that then how we usually go about it.

Interesting game with a lot of talking points I thought. I thought GWS were terrible but you have to give JL credit for that one, team was structured beautifully and strangle the life out of them. Should have won by 50.
  • I really hate that we haven't been able to really get Jackson and the good version of Darcy on the park together but clearly Jackson needs to be on ball, that is basically irrefutable at this stage.
  • Ras had probably his best game, particularly in close though its still ****ing painful when he has the ball with time. Given alternatively I'm not sure Johnson had an effective disposal, old mate Mike might not be able to fit his head through a door soon.
  • Cooper Simpson, one blip aside, is going absolutely nowhere any time soon. Crazy how good he's looking there so quickly.
  • Bolton is immediately a top 3 player at the club. Where's the nuffy saying Schultz is better, **** me dead. Best value trade in a long time.

This team is talented, don't doubt the talent.

Haha! Look, Johnson was trash and shows absolutely no awareness, but I honestly get no joy out of being right in these situations.

Just to clarify and I'm sure you already know this, I actually want to be wrong, because it means we have a good player on our hands.

He's good sometimes. And he's shit sometimes. Shouldn't be hard to give credit where credit is due and criticise where criticism is due.

She has a timeslot each week. IIRC it is Saturday arvo and the early Sunday game. She commentates more since 7 and Fox have their own commentary team for each game.
Unfortunately they took the Fox commentary on CH7 so she was inescapable unless you muted it.

Where are these performances at home?

Glad to see us win however it's just so typically for us to perform like that when the pressure is off.

Lots of people have said things I agree with - Simpson is looking very promising on half back, Voss is getting better and better in the ruck and really focusing on his follow up around stoppages, Wags is a very useful player, Worner has taken us all by surprise etc etc.

I really noticed we seemed to be enjoying ourselves. We wanted to be there, we wanted to work and work for each other. I don’t think we looked like that against Adelaide or against the Bullies. I don’t know if we needed the 9 day break. Anyway I hope they did really enjoy all of it.

I think the pressure was extreme. Just because we weren’t favourites doesn’t mean there was no pressure. JL would’ve absolutely been feeling it with nothing less than a win.

This was a great win but it was also great to finally play a side that didn’t turn up.
