Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Hates the team, hates this place, counting down the minutes til he leaves.

Wait, hang on…

Led the midfield, kicked two snags, took a hanger, brought everyone into it, only got one Harley tax downfield free. The worm is turning.

After the 3/4 huddle, As Mini was going off the ground Harley went and slapped him on the back.
I rewound this about 10 times. It looked like Mini was emotional and had tears in his eyes after the 3/4 time address. Makes sense given events. Looked like Harley had his back. Great to see.

The telltale sign is his secret handshake with TK. You don't learn all those complex hand and finger manoeuvres, and then move back home - he's fully invested in team handshakes and is staying!

Was great to see him signing autographs for the kids after the game. He seems like a quality person for a bloke in his shoes.

Can see he is gonna tear games apart in a couple of years.

Just praying he is an eagle for life at this point

His body language is saying he has connected with Mini and the fans.

Ive notice often when they run out at away games he is engaging with fans when doing it.

The way he got to Mini after the 3QT huddle was elite.

Would love that signature this year, clearly like everyone, not sure if we will get it but it would feel good.

I think this off-season is going to be very different to last year. He will hopefully come back in the best shape of his life.

The Volcano on the AFL website talking about Sam Lalor

"Name me a first year player, whose essentially a midfielder who has ever taken a pack mark like that".

HR says hi Kane.

Streets better than what we've seen from Lalor so far although there's half a year to go still.

One sad thing for me is seeing how happy HR looked last year VS how frustrated he seems to be this year. I think the constant media BS is getting to him. People have to remember he's still very much a kid. The scrutiny must be unbearable...

The frustration appears to have been dissipating over the past month, and it's probably a result of building back into fitness and form. He started the year some way back with the weight that he had put on over the preseason. He seems to be enjoying his footy a hell of a lot more, and there certainly seems to be team buy in.

Will the body language experts on the Vicco talking head shows over analyse and misinterpret what has been going on over the past month though? I'd safely wager that they won't.

I don't know a lot about his fitness - was there any injury etc? I don't keep up as much with other clubs obviously.

Was nice to see him have a smile and wave and the Tiger fans who were giving him lip (but also asking him to come play for us) so agree with you there, he may be working his way back into a better mindset. Still, the scrutiny is very unfair.

For about a year and a bit? Every P1 has had this problem more or less.

Great seeing him back at his best yesterday. Not worried about all the talk about contracts and trade right now, just happy he’s looking more like himself the last fortnight

Lalor will be a jet.

Just pointing out to our posters that Kane has his favourites.
