I am overseas and wasn't at game on weekend to speak with some people but I was told a month ago that Wright will make some key changes and was speaking with well known people to join us.

Comments were Voss was safe (at the moment) and focus was on Head of Football, Coaching group and Development. A lot of resources had been added to Recruiting & Fitness this year

Things can change but this is what I was told from some people that would know
I was told this as well by someone in the industry (although not at Carlton). They also have previously worked under Wright, and said he is as ruthless and professional of an operator as they’ve ever encountered, and he will do anything he can to ensure success

Most say it’s not the coach
Some say it’s the football manager
Some say it’s the players
The feeling is it’s the overall club
Can anyone tell me how after 20 plus yrs plus we still don’t know what the f….Is going on with this business model
It should have been bankrupt yrs ago they way it’s managed
Is there any hope left ?
Cook was meant to be the saviour
I must admit I was excited
Please anyone
The fish rots from the head. The board is unaccountable to the membership and there is no consequence for its wrong decision
Example A)
A better question is who has gone forwards in any aspect of their skills?
Hollands, Cripps, J
We are top 3 in the comp for transition football...

Before last week we were top 1.
You don't get score validation for entering fwd 50. Spare me the statistical rabbit hole. The definition of transition is from back to fwd through the goals, not dump kicking or shallow entries

I’d prefer it if we could kick, den mark…?
Ok one more…

Really hope we don’t continue to Helsinki!

Essendon will basically be playing a seconds team and we will be off the bye with a lot to prove. And then it’s west coast and north who we comfortably got hold of by 10+ goals each this year already. It won’t be proving anything this year but getting back to 7-7 will allow us some confidence going into port and then Collingwood. If we can manage to get to 8-7 v Collingwood and cause an upset we may be able to finally get on a roll.
You just know they'll break our hearts again.
Best off not even thinking about it 😉

It’s pretty much to late for vossy now imo
Unless we eek out enough wins in the second half of the season and it buys him one more trade period/season

I think you'll find this is the issue, NOT for Vossy though!

Voss was SUPER keen to bring in an elite HBF and/or Trac at the end of last year. Yes, hindsight is a wonderful thing, but it was there at the end of last year and now it's standing out like no tomorrow!

For those who missed all the comments from the experts on the weekend I will add link but in a nutshell:
  • we can't kick (no surprises there)
  • our best HBF plays on the oppositions best small (Sadd, again no surprises)
  • Ollie not good enough at HB (no surprises for some)
  • change is coming but how to make it
  • trade H as we play better with 1 forward and the game has changed that 2 forwards is too many
  • get an elite small
  • Walsh to HB
  • Charlie to the wing

So was I the only who noticed the footage on 360 of Crippa and Walsh walking off the ground after the game, and Crippa put his hand over his mouth as he was speaking to Walsh?
Obviously saying something he didn’t want picked up on camera.
Discontent rife in the group imo.
I mean it could be anything.

Most likely “thank **** I’ve got a week off from this shit”

Everybody said we were too old and too slow before the 95 premiership. Adding Whitehead and Camporeale made a massive difference to our pace.

I know people will say that was 30 years ago. But I still think the principle is the same. Add a couple of players with pace and a couple of players with foot skills and I think things start to look quite different.
Much the same was said about the Pies at the start of the season m,too old etc and here we are.

Are you hearing this from someone or is this your opinion?
I watched a clip from SEN this morning from Bucks and Gerard and Bucks seemed to suggest it’s less list related and more about structure and tactics.

Said we have great top talent and he likes our worker bees

From that there’s only one conclusion you can come to. Voss out , Bucks in!!

😃

Hollands, Cripps, J
Before Voss took over Cripps was a 2 time AA, 3 time BF and Leigh Mathews trophy winner, I don't see Voss having any impact on him.

As for Ollie, I really like him but he's coming off a zero base, bit of a stretch say the coach is responsible for his improvement and it shouldn't be overlooked that many on here wanted him dropped up until the last 2 game, So who else has improved?
