I might pop down to the captains run thur morning to see if he is there or not.Fly was making light of it by calling it man flu, but if Sidey misses, he must be pretty crook.

Good lord, no one saw this coming
Respectfully, not true. Several posters I think saw this as a distinct possiblity, especially since the concept of playing him later in the year was announced as the reason for selecting him in the Mid Season draft.Good lord, no one saw this coming

If the Club want to give him a chance to prove himself ( ie in his most familiar role) then he’ll play ahead of Mason.I see now that Charlie is injured. I still think it couldn’t hurt to try him back. We have Steene, Cox, Howes and Mason who can all play tall forward. Anyway this is for a different thread not this one.
Mitchell surelyHe could stay sub.
I agree with your logic - we don’t want to be bringing Dean in September without having really understood whether he’s upto the job or his best opponent profile.Dean must play against Carlton. He simply must. I know many here have claimed that he was a liability against WC. But is that necessarily the case? Our defence still functioned well. We don't yet fully understand what his role will be in our defence.
Frampers and Moore are our two key talls. We very much need another who can be called up in September if one of these two is unavailable.
It would be crazy in this situation to give Dean a game and then throw him back in the reserves.
I believe that he will definitely retain his spot for Friday night.
We need to see how he can intermesh his role into the entire defensive structure, and give him a chance to prove that he can.
Markov will be omitted and Bruzza will return, with the sub to be decided.
Don't Carlton have two tall forwards? Moore takes Curnow, and Dean takes the other ( to the extent that the phrase "taking an opponent "individually makes sense in our defensive system which functions as a unified whole rather than separate individuals taking responsibility for individual opponents.I agree with your logic - we don’t want to be bringing Dean in September without having really understood whether he’s upto the job or his best opponent profile.
But I’m not sure how he fits in with Bruzzy returning to defence.
Gives us a chance to see what Mitchell can offer and will increase the forward pressure and hunting which has looked lacking whilst Schultz and McCreery are out.If training is anything to go by, bringing in Mitchell will see Long pushed out into the forward line. Or at least in rotation. As its clear we cant play all of Mitchell. Long and Pendles in the one centre bounce.
He likes the record. I don't think he'd tell anyone if he was sick.
Who goes out for Mitchell?Gives us a chance to see what Mitchell can offer and will increase the forward pressure and hunting which has looked lacking whilst Schultz and McCreery are out.
There's this bloke called Jeremy Howe who is in sensational form and was fantastic when Moore was out.Dean must play against Carlton. He simply must. I think Sullivan. I noticed he didn't really participate in match him.Who goes out for Mitchell?
Given that Roan is definitely playing, it can only be Sullivan.
How will Mitchell contribute to forward pressure?
Only if Long plays forward.
But I don't want Long playing forward. He is too good as an inside midfield beast.

Is this your 7 day routine?Day 12: Return to after game routine
- Drink a six pack
- Eat two large pizzas
- Play xbox

But Frampers plays in the same defence as Bruzzy, Moore and Jem Howe. We will especially need the extra tall when playing teams such as Geelong. There's this bloke called Jeremy Howe who is in sensational form and was fantastic when Moore was out.
Option 1: All 3 talls
Option 2 - two of them and Bruzzy
(option 2 might end up being option 1)
We need two out to call on Dean.
Wasn’t Marcov that hairy armed Carlton player from the bad old days?MARKOV - It's with a K you malaka re

Been very consistent. Can someone describe Steele as a player and how he has gone in the VFL so far.
Marcou was that hairy little dudeWasn’t Marcov that hairy armed Carlton player from the bad old days?![]()
I dunno about that. Players don't have to be far off 100% health to be useless in an AFL matchFly was making light of it by calling it man flu, but if Sidey misses, he must be pretty crook.
