I've always thought of him as the next Chad Fletcher. Just needs to flatline in the off season and he will be good to go.

Man I loved Fletch getting the ball he used it bloody well.

A few times v Coll across HB Hall looked a bit Beau Waters like with the left foot action

We're both kinda right and wrong. Anybody that impacts the player with the ball, is awarded a tackle stat

In AFL, if multiple players from the same team apply a tackle to the ball carrier, each player involved who impacts the ball carrier is awarded a tackle, according to Champion Data. If a second or third player arrives after the initial tackle and doesn't impact the ball carrier, they will not be credited with a tackle. The key factor is whether their tackle has an impact on the ball carrier.
That surprises me too, I would expect to see higher tackle stats if it were justimpacting the ball carrier. I guess it only counts as impacting the play if it results in a HTB, a ball up or a "knocked free"?

I think if it doesn't go to a teammate then it is classified as a tackle

Tbf no other kid got close. Also helped it came in one of the bye weekends
FYI ... make up your own minds ...

16 Rising Star nominations so far.

To Vic players: 11; non-Vic 5

Representing 11 Vic teams and four non-Vic
(Ess 3, Melb 2, plus 6 at one each; WCE 2, Adel 1, Bris 1, Freo 1)

Awarded for matches played in Vic 12; non-Vic 4
(MCG 8 & Marvel 4; Adel x2, Syd & Perth 1)

Another one for the book 'Advantages of being a Victorian AFL team'? Or simply yet another 'statistical anomaly'?

You’ve gathered enough evidence here to justify a longitudinal analysis of previous sessions to see if there is a trend here. Have to account for the over all population of the AFL being skewed towards VIC in the data. Who’s up for it?

The standards for rising star noms drop off loads as the season goes on. Post the mid year byes, even an average game will get you a look if you're eligible.

Hall put in a solid yet unspectacular contribution. Taaru is the only other who merited consideration as he apparently equalled St Kilda's all time spoils record in a game. He also had just 9 touches.

I actually made a blue with the 'awarded for matches played in ... '. I forgot to take out R5 which was the Gather Round so the figure should be Vic 12:non-Vic 3

So, are you more likely to get a RS nomination if you're a Victorian player (11-5)? Or, are you more likely to get a nomination if you play in Victoria (12-3)? Maybe or maybe not both?

Which makes me ask: who are the panel and do they actually travel outside Vic? And are they influenced by vAFL media?

PS: total games up to and including R16 = 125 i.e. 14x9 - GC/Ess (ignoring Gather Round). 62 in Vic. 63 outside Vic. So any argument that 'but more games are played in Vic' is BS.

All he needs to do is get first hands on the ball at clearances and dish it out to Harley & Hewitt, and he will be worth his weight in gold.
This and just being an option around the ground,i think hes figured out he can do more damage with lateral handballs to others than him kicking it

I think you’re looking a bit far into it
