Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

Idolised Tim Kelly as a kid and now playing like Tim Kelly’s old boy. Despite his initial start I think 2025 has been a good year for him. Teams got worse and the support around hims got worse.

Everything I've seen from him on-field lately tells me he wants to stay and make this club - and himself - the best.
As noble as that sounds, it’s quite fantastical. Very unlikely any rational young person would take the messiah route over moving into a more supporting environment.

I’d give it a 5% chance that he feels motivated by wanting to drag this side out of the mud.

Has Harley actually given all of you guys having a cry the impression that hes a little bitch?

Is that actually how you guys perceive him?
Not at all. But hard not to wonder what he could be if a single AFL standard mid helped him out every week. God forbid the entire midfield group, could be biblical.

We dont have the cattle, as we all already know.

Itll take time, no point crying that Harley is about to leave because of that 3rd quarter.

Nothing has changed about the list tonight

I echo bzparkes, y’all are cucks.

Mans putting in the effort of 3-4 guys week in and week out, gave shit to JHF for walking out after a year, has flown the flag for the club on multiple occasions and you’re all in here bending over to be reamed like he’s gonna leave us high and dry?

I’m not even entertaining the thought that he’s leaving. He’s a generational talent that’s bought into the fabric of what makes our club great, and has shown nothing but drive to want to get us back to the top of the hill.

What can we get for Harley? A few AA Jackets, a Brownlow and a flag if we support him properly.

****ing buy in campaigners.

He’s unreal, hope he spends the rest of his career here.

Wouldn’t begrudge him if he left though, has so much heart - will cheer him on either way

He isn't just some kid; he's the Michael Jordan of the AFL. He takes us being this shit personally, and his drive is to drag us off the bottom and back to winning premierships.

And he would also be wondering this, just how much is the question.

If you don’t think after tonight some of the players would actually be question just how long this will take to start winning more then losing, you’re a long way off it. (Just like we don’t need more mid thoughts)

Mental part of the game is huge. Like mini said you dominate a quarter like we did and still look up and see you are losing, it starts to affect you when you’ve been in that position so many times

They may question in the heads, and I know a lot of them dont have a lot going on up there but once they sit down and think about it they should realise that nothing has changed, this sort of fading in and out of games is to be expected.

Yes it was rubbish but the list is incredibly young, far more kids than the next youngest list

Agreed it is the most cucked behaviour I have voluntarily exhibited since my wedding night, can’t help but let the mind wander when we’re getting pumped by 17th in a home game.

**** it, fire up campaigners.
