Getting your knickers in a twist over this is quite funny.

Not in a twist, I just agree there’s no place for it.

It’s ridiculous and you know it is… the majority of people suffer through it because they’re too polite to say otherwise.

But you are completely deluded to think the majority of people support this bullshit.

Plenty of ALP voters don’t support Welcome to Country at every single ****ing event.
I've been welcomed once (not that I have a clue why I need to be welcomed to a country i was born in). I don't need to be welcomed ever again. The continual welcoming is just a pisstake at this point.

With respect to Welcome to Country, and I agree it’s overused, one of the more annoying complaints is the ‘why am I being welcomed to my own country’. It totally ignores that for tens of thousands of years Australia wasn’t a single ‘country’. Indigenous Australians aren’t a single group, they are made up of dozens of nations. Your ‘country’ is not the entire continent.

There is nothing wrong either the principle, like the national anthem being played, the question is whether it’s being overused. And it needs to be separated from acknowledgment of country, which is a different thing altogether and a total waste of time and data.

We send tanks to Ukraine. Russia sends oil to Australia. What a joke.

Claims fuel tanker heading to WA filled with banned Russian oil

Ukrainian and Australian campaigners say a tanker due to dock this week in Kwinana, 40 kilometres south of Perth, is laden with Russian oil, and are calling on the Albanese government to intervene.

Russia has made more money on oil than Ukraine has been given support from all nations combined during the war.

That's very disappointing if it goes ahead, Surely the State and Federal Government should come to the party here....when you think of the money wasted on Albo's "Voice" referendum fantasy this brings that into focus. Talk about priorities being so ****ed up.

SA disability employer Bedford Group to enter voluntary administration, affecting 1400 workers

One of SA’s largest employers of people with a disability has announced it will enter voluntary administration, impacting more than 1400 workers.

The state’s second largest employer of people with disabilities is set to enter voluntary administration over the weekend, impacting more than 1400 workers across South Australia.
Bedford Group, a not-for-profit that has been operating in SA for 80 years, announced on Thursday it had made the “devastating” decision following negotiations with the state and federal governments and the National Australia Bank (NAB).

The company said it had in recent years been working to separate the organisation from the reliance on funding models related to the NDIS.

It is expected to enter voluntary administration this Sunday.
Bedford failed its vulnerable people by chasing the dreams of a snake oil salesman.
I just hope the administrators conduct a thorough investigation.

The left voted for it so they shouldn't complain.

Serious question, as I haven't followed this. Who is the snake oil salesman you mentioned?

The left voted for it so they shouldn't complain.

All 3 countries have endured 20 years of mass immigration, a completely comprised media and an opposition party which is not too dissimilar to the party in power. They have an upper middle-class/liberal elite snob who absolutely despise the working class. The political elite in all 3 countries have gutted the working middle class.

I completely agree with this.

I don't have an issue with welcome to country, but I do think it should only be used in moderation at major events etc. I think it's been over used and that has hurt the public sentiment of it.

The sensible solution is about finding the right balance where it's only used at special events like the anthem rather than it being overused like it currently is.

It's almost as if we let minors buy playboys at the newsagent...

Also pete, why dont you fact check before you post this garbage?

Yes, I’m sure the political motivations behind this are all about protecting children.

In other news, the same people introducing this also want to let them vote.
