If the Titans has a light hearted jab at the SUNS, I think most Suns fans would embrace it. I know I certainly would. But the superiority complex from the Titans and most of their fans is why I could never jump on board. Gold Coast or not, they are are embarrassing.

My experiences are very different.

I also know Titans fans that are not SUNS supporters (Collingwood, Freo ect). People adopt their teams in different ways. Good on you for being Gold Coast proud. But that is not everyones story

I know you said you wouldn't respond to a quote, but I'm really curious - do you ever try to correct Titans fans on these things? Having lived on the GC and been surrounded by RL fans my whole life, I can't imagine Titans/RL fans would be overly thrilled with someone trying to force them to become a pseudo fan of the Suns/AFL because it's 'non-GC' to do otherwise or even trying to correct a third-person pronoun of "they" to a first-person pronoun of "us" when referring to the Suns. You can't force someone to embrace a sport/team they're not interested in and calling them fake Gold Coasters for not doing so feels dictatorial.

People are interested in what they're interested in. That's their prerogative as a citizen of a country that allows free choice. One of the greatest aspects of being Australian is that we have this kind of freedom and aren't being dictated to. Let's not ruin that.
