Anyone else booked flights and accommodation for the Grand Final. I am sure others have.

I ask this not because i am getting ahead of myself but i like to save some money if i can.

However, if we miss out which is more likely that making it, i will only be out of pocket $99 for a cash refund on airfares.
In the whole scheme of costs going to the GF from interstate i just put that $99 down to an insurance policy amount.

On the 2/8/25 i paid the return airfares leaving Brisbane Fri returning Sun. The return costs have risen $283 since then.

I paid the accommodation to Ovolo Sth Yarra on the Black Friday weekend 30/11/24 where we went the 2 previous years.
I paid $300 for 2 nights single room. Can cancel 2 days before for a full refund
Just checked now it is $720 for two nights. Both prices in the cheapest rooms called Go Go Snug
A mate of mine has. He's a Tigers supporter, but has memberships to the Lions, Gold Coast and GWS as well.

Sadly, we're overseas every September school holidays.

Even if we don't make the GF, it's still a awesome weekend away, especially at the prices you secured. The Ovolo is a great hotel, and grand final week in Melbourne is hard to beat (unless Collingwood are in it lol).

Only a few matches to go that will affect the final placings.

Today >
Cats v Tigers

Tomorrow >
Giants v Saints
Bulldogs v Dockers
Lions v Hawks

Wednesday >
Suns v Bombers

IMO Cats, Giants and Suns are almost certain to win.

We win we 100% play the Cats away in a QF.
Dogs and Hawks win - We play Dogs at home in an EF.
Dockers and Hawks win - We play Dockers away in an EF.

It will all unfold as the day progresses.
Only one thing the Lions can control.
Turn up from the start of the game tonight.
Battle it out for 4 quarters and hopefull come away with a win and top 4.

From foxsports. saves me thinking about it
Sunday night: Brisbane Lions vs Hawthorn, 7:20pm at the Gabba

This is a showdown for the last spot in the top four. The winner either gets Geelong or Adelaide (if Hawks win by less than 2 goals). The loser should cop an away elimination final, either against GWS, the Bulldogs or Fremantle.

Assuming the Suns beat the Bombers first week of finals will be providing there are no draws(home team first) >

Baring an almighty comeback from the Dogs, looks like our game tonight has had the stakes raised considerably.

As much as we just thumped Freo without Neale last week. I'd much rather play Geelong Week 1 at the MCG.

Draw v hawks I think we finish 5th and play suns or dogs.

We've just finished inside the offense and defence premiership window for the season.

We're ranked 6th for defence and 5th for offence.

Pretty sure the rule of thumb is no team has won the premiership this century if their defence and offense isn't top 6. (Think there might be one exception for the Offense part)

Good omen!

I'm baaaaack! RE last night:
1. We didn’t have Lachie, Eric or Jarrod (8 on the injury list last night);
2. We had 8 kids under 22 on the field, including Ty on game #2, Sam on game #7 and Jimmy on game #12;
3. It was Kai’s first game back in a long time;
4. If we kick straight then we win by 80.

So we've finished 3rd on the ladder despite: having one of the hardest fixtures in AFL history, losing Joe Daniher to retirement, losing a god awful amount of home games, being allergic to kicking goals, ACL & achilles injuries to two of our premiership defenders, our leading ruckman being injured/unfit the entire season AND despite being hunted on every occasion as the reigning premiers.

I've been collecting content throughout the season and I am giddy to use it to produce a sequel. Bring on the finals. LFG!!!

Very keen to see the next video!!

Well said!

This season is already a huge achievement.

At the beginning of the year top 4 should be the goal of a premiership team.
However recently premiers have struggled to actually make the 8.

After our well-deserved win last night, we now have that converted double chance.
Also, the pre finals bye should help some of our players to get over a hard fixture year.

Strange that the H & A season is over bar the cancelled R1 game Suns v Bombers.
Can the Suns find a way to miss finals again.
Hopefully they get the win over the lowly and injury riddled Bombers.

The Suns do have to play 3 games in 10 days plus the added pressure of making finals for the first time.

I'm going to get in early and ask if anyone on this board has a membership barcode they're willing to let us use for this final. My group are all hardcore Lions fans but we have a casual supporter who didn't get a membership this year.

If anyone can't make it to the game, we would very much appreciate your help to add another loud Lions voice at the G.

This finals series is one for the rort-lovers:

Finalists by RORTS:

Crows: Michalanney F/S; Tex under the dodgy NSW scholarship program that preceded the academies. An extra home game due to Gather Round.

Pies: Pendles (priority pick was Dale Thomas, but the extra pick was pendles), Moore, Daicos x2, Quaynor

Geelong: Best natural advangate due to fixture in the comp, COTTON ON and Rhys Stanley's farm. Notice no father sons left and none on the horizon so makes sense why C Scott is now anti Father son, their natural advantages will be untouched.

Lions: Andrews, Ashcroft x 2, Hipwood, Fletcher, Marshall.

GIANTS: Less than you would think - start up concessions still relevant for Toby Greene, and Tom Green is the big academy player.

Hawks: Calsher Dear. They also RORTED the lions out of a draft pick for Brandon Ryan because Gunners needed a compassionate trade back to them.

Freo: Sandgroper chip on shoulder = biggest RORT of all. Brandon Walker NGA but isn't very good and hasn't played all year. Of course they got another big RORT this year - Norf sold them a home game so that got them in the 8. Counts as a RORT premiership imo.

Gold Coast and the bulldogs speak for themselves, perhaps the greatest rort accumulators in the game today.

We RORT-enjoyers can't lose this year

I'm a little slow on the uptake with this but thought I would write it down to ingrain it in my mind.

If the Suns win by under circa 30 points- they are away v Giants.

If Suns win by over circa 30 points- they are away v Dockers.
____________________________

We play the winner of Dockers v Suns or Hawks in a Semi Final if we lose v the Cats.

If the Suns do the unthinkable and lose v the Bombers they miss finals and the Dogs make it to an EF v the Giants and the Dockers v Hawks EF is a lock.
