Been told that behind the scenes there is major pushback from the big clubs about the proposed changes, specially more geared towards Father-Sons. Carlton, Collingwood and Geelong all incredibly against it, my connection even suggesting Carlton will challenge leagally if they impliment these rules next draft and don't give clubs a 4-5 year runway into these changes.

Only two clubs that seem to be pushing for this is Saints and Freo, and Saints boggles my mind with some young Riewoldt father-sons coming through.
Geelong was one club at one stage that wanted change wonder what’s changed their mind

Saints president had a big whinge on their Best and First night last year about the system
While saints only started their full time father/daughter program this year

Jon Ralph already reporting on HS a plan that Blues can still keep the rights to Cody Walker next year

I don't have a pass but be interesting to see what he saying
So squeaky wheel in the old boy network getting the special treatment? What a surprise that would be.

Cool... as long as we get Jaxon and Levi as well then.

Rules for some but not for others huh?

Noah Yze wowwweeeee

Dees are gonna get an absolute steal
I stand to be corrected here.

Yze went through last year's Draft but wasn't selected. He's likely to be picked up in this season's Draft but Melbourne are no longer eligible to take him under the Father/Son.

It's going to be painful for the Dees if he ends up at another team (Richmond would be cool) and goes on to be a star.

We will see what convoluted system they cook up.
There are so many different and acceptable ways to get this right.

My money is on the AFL ignoring those and choosing something else.

Exactly my thinking. The cynical part of me thinks that because of the push back to the first round lockout they'll instead stack the books to make it near on impossible to match a first round bid without having an actual lockout in place.
