What a collection of bedwetters there is in this thread. The draft is light on for top end talent and as for other players some clubs will have players in their top 30 and others 50+ so quit the they're suddenly not good enough because they are and if we get them for a song even better. Three months ago there was flipping out there wouldn't be enough points and players would have to go to bring them in! You can't win with some people so just relax, they'll all be on the list (Kerr longer odds) in 26.
It sounds a bit more like you’re wetting the bed here Carl.

We love the truckster.

We can jump that thing almost 50 yards……

Kerr longer odds
I’ll preface this by admitting I have only watched footage and never seen any of our kids play live.
Based purely on the attributes I’ve seen, Kerr seems to bring something we need more of than Tom imo.
Sorry if that triggers anyone.

Bedwetters of the world, unite and take over.

Why are we hoping for this outcome? I understand the concern about him jumping into the top of the 1st Rd from a points perspective, but having him as a later 1st Rd pick is a bonus for future trade periods. If he is an early 2nd pick that will be 24 and 25 without a 1st Rd selection which would mean we can’t trade our 2027 first next
we don’t have to rely or wait until a mcarthy first round bid to be able to trade future first. Who knows what happens in the trade period, we might end up with a live first or firsts if bobby moves or there could be other trades made that nets us a live first rounder.

The reason i said mid 30’s is because that is where Jack Witlock a keyfwd/ruck about the same height as mcarthy went to port last year.

If people remember , clubs seem to prefer drafting key backs ahead of the forwards and ruck/forwards , especially from the second round onwards.

Jacks’s brother Matt, who is listed as a key back went before him.

I would be very surprised if mcarthy get bid on before pick 30.

Clubs will prioritise picking players (kpp excluded) who are suited for the modern game and more likely to come in and make an impact within the first season , atleast in the first round.

As talented as Mcarthy is, he is still a project player that will need a lot of time and development.

In a high transition game , good users by foot are extremely important, which would make tommy far more valuable than kerr.

Not having a crack mate but I was at 2 of the finals he played last year for Keilor and he did nothing to stand out. Wouldn’t have noticed him if I wasn’t looking for him.

He’s been the same in both VFL games I’ve seen in him this year.
I think if he can find the ball and make good decisions then he has a decent shot at making it. We’re all coming around now to Parker being an AFL quality prospect and he’s not super athletic; just a smart player, tough, composed, good vision, good kick, tackles well. They don’t all jump off the page.

Tom had 17 disposals playing out of position and apparently had a bad game. That's not too bad. Tom will be fine, just might need a bit longer to develop
Yeah, I like the Jaicos comparison - slow burner with class & skills.

Good - I think we've done enough trading of first round picks in the last 10 years. We need to actually take a few.

Eli’s brother Joel got BOG in camberwell u15 gf this afternoon. Beat Richmond by 1 point.
Eli jumped the fence once the siren went. I’m like.. yeah, I’m not doing that 😂

out of position? his rep coach and now this 18s coach are playing him in the middle.

maybe its a good thing because he isn't going to cost much now.

There you go, no one is going to tank. Just bad luck for the clubs that have invested in their players.

Contract security is such an invaluable thing in today’s afl. No first round prospect is going to give that up .
I'm not as convinced. A lot of draftees sign really early extensions.
