It might be a stupid idea but if we are concerned about Duursma.

On draft night we take Cumming’s at 1, then we get on the phone to Essendon and say if you want Duursma you can have him but it’s a straight swap for 5 & 6 otherwise miss out. Gives them **** all time to come back with a counteroffer & they are under pressure to make the call on the spot. If they don’t bite we just back ourselves to get the best out of him or maybe another team comes calling.

Hopefully Richmond then took CDT & Lindsay.

We then grab Sharp & Farrow.

Use all the other picks to Get Suns port pick & use that on Schubert or Barker.

Cummings at 1 would cause chaos & to be honest it doesn’t seem like a massive reach.

End up with Cummings, Sharp, Farrow, Shubert/Barker.

So Dougie could be a no-go if Port get him to their NGA😒
Given the complaints about NGA/Academy/FS have to think there's no hcance the get him as a NGA given that his brother wasn't, and his father was an AFL player.

Stranger things have happened though.

If we left the draft with sharp, cumming, Schubert and farrow I’d be walking around with a bar superman couldn’t bend.

Why on earth would you rather see freo do well over a vic team? I'm not picking up what you're putting down
Lol I know it seems strange but I was brought up as a WA fan first and foremost. My father loved cheering for the dockers just as much as the Eagles. I myself obviously went full Eagles tragic but still enjoyed watching the old man going for Freo. Who could blame him? He died two weeks ago and I very much enjoyed sharing so many of the close Freo matches with him. Port Adelaide, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Sydney, Gold Coast etc.

It wouldn't be right if I didn't cheer for the purple to go all the way. Dad would've wanted it that way.

Love you Dad. See you soon x

Farmer, sorry for your loss. Hopefully your father went for the eagles during the Derby though :)

When talking about 17 year old boys, I'd be careful who I express that sentiment to

Thoughts to you and your family, hope you're all doing ok. Know well wishes on here wasn't why you shared it but with you all the same, much love :heart:

Kind of agree on the WA fan vibes. Freo feels like the little brother that, yeah I always want to be better than, but who I also kind of want to be better than my actual rivals as well. Aside from the same state bias, fan sledging back and forth, and Pav, there's no actual reason to hate them, they're so harmless. And they deal with a lot of the same competition wide shit that we do.

When I actually feel hatred in my stomach regarding footy it's the Vic media, clubs like Geelong, or inversely Essendon who act like they're still a big club despite being the longest term, shittest team ever. Carlton act like a big club but have I guess been shit and irrelevant for less long than Essendon. I still have an unrealistically aggressive hatred for Mason Cox. Garry Lyon ****s me off beyond rationale. James Hird still exists for some reason. Clarkson I want to see fail at North. The Scott brothers coach Vic teams. Tom Morris is a Melbourne Grammar graduate. I hate Nick Daicos and Trent Cotchin more than any Freo players ever. Dodoro exists.

When I weigh up Freo winning their first flag vs all the Vic media personalities melting over it, their success is so much more palatable.

It's nice you're honouring your dad by cheering on the purps. I just cant go the full Mitch brown myself

I'm similar. My Dad and the rest of my family, including extended family are all Dockers supporters and members. My Nan is 99 and has never seen them win (she hates the Eagles tho lol). But, for their sake I hope they win.

The elephant in the room is the players association.
Isn't there something like an EBA between the P/A and the V/aFL in place. If so then the only changes could be made in the next EBA period.

Who is our most handsome Pick 1 and why will it be Sharp?

I watched the 2018 GF at a pub in Freo. There were plenty of Freo fans there but the vast majority that I spoke to were staunchly in the Eagles camp.

There was one Freo fan tosser who was loudly barracking for the Pies, and actually getting in the faces of Eagles fans with over-celebrations. Needless to say he enjoyed the first quarter. But when the Eagles fans got in his face after the result he tried to get physical and was ejected to the cheers of the rest of the crowd.

Gee Owies should be thanking his lucky stars:

Delisted - 22 yr old Jye Menzies kicked 36 goals in 47 games, going at .765 goals a game, after joining the Bombers mid-season in 2022, including a career-best of four against Melbourne this year.

2 joyous years to go - 28 yr old Matt Owies kicked 7 goals in 16 games, going at .437 goals a game, after joining the Eagles as much vaunted senior leader with goal kicking smarts and great cucumber sandwich making skills, and had a stand out performance of two goals against No.17 team, Richmond.

Seriously just pay him out or send him back to the Blues for free with salary paid IDGAF.

Keen for Nizzy to be getting in Phil's face over Owies the way he reckons he did with Nizzy (and somehow kept his job?)
