They celebrated just as hard with the win that put them into finals in the last round against the Bombers and that was a 95 point win, mitigating factor I suppose is they had a 10 days to reset.

We probably hope they played their final tonight. Although we also tried convincing ourselves that Geelong’s easy road in would be to their detriment and our hard slog in the second half of the year would work in our favour.

Reality is we are extremely banged up whilst they’ll be near full strength. It’s a legit toss of the coin. If I was a neutral tipping them, I could definitely make a good case as to why I think.

I couldn’t care less about it being good for QLD footy, particularly when it’ll impact whether we win or not and based off what Freo dished up, would have been highly confident of winning.

Do not like our chances at all; their mids are way better than ours without Lach and I think they have too many other match ups to their advantage.

What an utterly shit weekend of footy; not one result went the way I wanted it; not one.

They have 2 decent mids. If were to get on top it’ll be our midfield depth

I’ll back W Ashcroft and Clug to play much better next week and Bailey likes playing the Suns

Great for QLD footy, would be gut wrenchy for the Suns to knock us out though. Can already see the "Little brother becomes big brother" headlines.

Long-term the best thing that can happen for our rivarly is to go from softly being happy for them to straight out despising them, akin to the WC/Freo & Adelaide/Port rivarlies.

I'm happy they've won a final, good on them but it stops now. Must remind them that we're still the big brothers up the road. Must treat them as the arch-rival next week.

Berry had his colors lowered which does not happen too much.
He returned from that shoulder issue and did not appear hampered by the injury. No way for us to know though.
Hopefully he blew out the cobwebs and will put in a better effort next week.
He still got the 18 disposals but struggled to get back into defense in time which is one of his best attributes.

He was definitely hampered by it. Multiple instances where he approached a contest gingerly or was on the ground worried about the shoulder.

It’s nearly a lesser of two evils scenario. The footy gods seem to be smiting us for whatever reason and the hurdles just seem to be becoming too much. If the Suns do end up winning next week then I’d much rather the Suns go the whole way with a healthy roster and a lightning in a bottle mentality, then us limp to Prelim weekend and the Pies absolutely embarrass us and waltz into a grand final. (Obviously the Lions winning b2b, is still my preference but everything looks like it’s going against us to ensure it isn’t our year)
