Ended up buying tickets in case family and friends (non members) missed out on good seats. Section 222 Row D. Right next to interchange benches! Cat 2 tickets, $86 for the adult tickets, $26 for the junior upgrades.

A low-capacity stadium pretty much guarantees more top prices when demands are high.

Except for the last 2 grand finals at the MCG i have not been to the MCG for other H & A games or finals.
Can i assume that there are more seats available at reasonable prices during finals with that 100k capacity

Having a new Brisbane Olympic stadium with increased capacity of 63k should also give more membership categories during the season and probably finals to.
Looking at the seating plan, can be pretty much assured that all those level-1 Cat2 tickets at the Gabba would be Cat1 at the MCG.

There would be more lower price seats at the MCG, but there’s a massive difference between sitting in lvl 1/2/3 and the back half of lvl-4. You do get a seat at the stadium though!

Somewhere along the two orange lines. Depending on your seat numbers

Great seats. They are in the low 340's, do you you know if that's closer to interchange or further away from the interchange, in that row?

If friends/ family don't need them they might be up for grabs, I'll offer them to BF posters at face value. Will know later today or tomorrow.

This is close to being correct.
Numbers get higher going to left of screen towards Interchange

We got Section 424, very happy with that, our regular season tickets are in 422.
My usual seats are Sect 423 row EE.
They are very good viewing seats
But i can't stand the people sitting behind me.

I would be very happy to view the game in 424 or 425 being closer to one goal end.

If we bow out this Saturday night would our season be considered?

A- Success.
B- Pass.
C- All things considered a good season.
D- We are the Titanic.

I'd go with B - All things considered a good season (Pass).

We would have nearly got away with a makeshift forward line after Joe's departure, but injuries (perhaps exacerbated by the toughest fixture on record) would have ended the season early.
However, I'm still strongly of the belief we won't bow out this Saturday.

I’d give it a pass. I had a successful season for us this year as making it back to a prelim when we didn’t adequately replace Joe.

We’ve struggled up front this year and in the ruck and he would’ve obviously helped both areas, so when he retired I wasn’t expecting us to get back to the Granny this year.

With the amount of injuries we’ve then had and now especially at the wrong time of the year, coupled with the tough draw, I think making it to the second week isn’t so bad all things considered.

I’m expecting to be legitimate contenders again next year on the proviso we can get on top of these bloody injuries though.

I also think pass is basically a fair assessment - we've done well in what has been a tough year for injuries and losing Joe. In the offseason we'll have an opportunity to bolster our tall stocks and nurse a few players through rehab which will be valuable. I think we'll win on Saturday though.

I feel like missing the prelim at least would be a fail.

But I'd rather lose this week than lose in a prelim to Collingwood.

I'm quite torn.

I will go for (A) Success.

Not many teams would have got this far with our draw and injury woes.
The previous two premiers missed the 8 the following year.
The longer we stay in the race the better it is for our sponsor dollars and membership numbers.
Also, it's better for our AFL finals dividend the longer we stay in the race.

Would love another crack at the Pies.
Before they beat the Crows they were not going all that well the previous month.
Nor were the Crows playing well either.

As they say, one week at a time.

It's a tough one. Disappointing to lose this week but with our injuries is the extra week of holidays better for the team long term?

Oddly I feel less confident about beating the Suns than the Pies if we get that far.
I reckon that's nerves about not wanting to be beaten by the Suns and going out in straight sets.
I so don't want to go see us beaten by the Pies at the MCG (again!!), but it's a more likely result as compared to the Suns.

Nope. Winning is always better than losing. Win this week, then we get a chance to win next week, and a chance to with the week after!

Time to ramp up the positivity. Our Brisbane based fans have a team to get behind in 6 days!

Out of curiosity, how many tickets would the Suns and their filthy supporters have had access to; you know being our home ground and all?
It is completely the AFLs call.
I think the AFL want all finals to sell out or sell as many seats as possible.
They allocate the % according to who plays whom and where.
If we played the Dockers i believe the Lions would have been given a much bigger %.
If we played the Pies or another big Victorian club, it would be around 60/40 in the Lions favor.

Because the AFL want the Suns to have some success i recon it would have been close to 55/45 or 60/40 Lions favor.
Each club's members had their chance to purchase tickets as it did not officially sell out by 3pm.
That is when the remainder went on sale to the public.
How many that was only ticketmaster the AFL and probably both clubs would know.

Also, no way of knowing if it took many hours to sell all those pesky single seats that get left.
Maybe that's all that was left to the general public.
Apparently, it took 1 hour after the public got access (3pm) to officially sell out.

Has the minor premier ever gone out in straight sets before?
Have no idea if this is correct but AI gave me this

Or did you mean "has the previous years afl premiers gone out in straight sets the following year"

Thanks. I know clubs have gone out in straight sets as the reigning premier: Melbourne 2022, Hawthorn 2016, West Coast 2007 off the top of my head this century. I was more wondering about whether a team had finished on top and gone out in straight sets like Adelaide might this weekend.

Yeah probably right. Let's go Lions
