It's becoming increasingly apparent that this was most likely a false flag attack from an incel far right winger, radicalized online, with a goal of accelerationism (triggering a civil war).

It's an act of terrorism.

Which if true, is Kirks grifting, contributing to the radicalization of young men exactly like his killer, coming back to roost.

He's an active member of an online community of white nationalists and incels from the Alt-Right who follow Nick Fuentes (a holocaust denying far right online grifter). He's a registered Republican. His social feeds include him wearing pro Trump and Alt Right attire, posing with guns and so forth.

Like our own Neo Nazis (and that bloke in Christchurch) these ****wits are trying to effectively start a civil war/ race war (it's called accelerationism, look it up).

He probably left the gun in the open (with the anti-fascist writing on in) deliberately, in order to frame 'the left' and push everyone closer to said war.

Still early days, but that's what it pretty clearly looks like at this stage.

If you invade, or attack, another nation then you, as the government, are ultimately responsible for what happens to your people.

Unless we expect nations to not retaliate when attacked?

A similar thing is happening on the Thai/Cambodia border currently.

Cambodia attacked first and now they're complaining to Thailand, the UN, even SAAB, that they shouldn't be retaliating and how unfair it is.

Ultimately is is Hamas' fault Israel invaded as, presumably, it would've never happened if October 7th didn't occur and Hamas could've released the hostages and surrendered and the war would've ended there and then.

If Israel invaded first and Hamas retaliated, then it'd be Israel's fault.

Sorry, when you're killing tens of thousands of civilians in wildly disproportionate attacks, laying waste to cities, ethnic cleansing and suggesting mass removals, then "look what you made them/me do" just doesn't cut it and is a pathetic response lacking decency.

We now know that the alleged shooter was a 22-year-old white Mormon man from Utah. It seems increasingly likely that he was a far-right supporter of the white nationalist Nick Fuentes. The engravings on the bullets found appear to be references to memes popular within Fuentes's "groyper" movement. Groypers despised Charlie Kirk because he wasn't right-wing enough for their taste and they believe that he sold out the "America First" movement.

One bullet was engraved with the phrase “Hey fascist! Catch!" but it does not appear to be a left-wing "antifa" message as Republicans originally claimed. Instead, it seems to be a reference to a satirical slogan in the popular video game Helldivers 2. Video games are a crucial cornerstone of the bizarre groyper worldview, along with misogyny and racism.

In the coming days we will no doubt learn more about this twisted shooter and his hateful beliefs but we cannot allow Republicans to slink away without taking responsibility for their lies. Yesterday, they were promising now civil war. Now that it appears the shooter was one of their own, they want to move on.

We must hold them accountable. The shooter is not transgender, is not a Democrat, and is not an immigrant. He's an unstable homegrown white man with access to firearms. America's gun violence problem is a Republican problem.
